The game starts well, but when you reach about 500 inhabitants it starts to get slow. although this is increasing, becoming unplayable after 1000 inhabitants. I have tried several times to make several maps, I have all the previous games deleted, but given the 1200+ inhabitants that I currently have, I can barely build a road. I click on the paths tool, it takes a while to activate, I place the path, I have to wait for the image to appear, it’s exasperating. Not to mention that it jerks constantly and moving the map is sometimes very tedious because I have to try several times until it moves.
I don’t have an old PC, and I have played other games that move this amount of data and work well. I have already read the data regarding the optimization being worked on, but I wanted to share my experience with data to be able to help in this optimization, because I like the game a lot, I have played more than 340 hours, but I cannot play it this way .
Looking over your dxdiag, your system specs should be sufficient to run the game and your drivers are relatively up to date.
A town of 1200+ is definitely going to result in poorer framerate since the game is not fully optimized. What kind of framerate are you seeing at 1200 population?
Besides that, it looks like your CPU has an integrated GPU, so it is possible that it is taking priority over your dedicated one.
It’s something that has affected people in the past, so making sure that the dedicated GPU is used may be worth a try for you:
My PC is not a laptop, so I am using my RTX 2060 Super. Since even if the cpu has an integrated GPU, since it is a desktop PC with its graphics card installed with the connections all placed on the graphics card, it is impossible to be using the integrated GPU of the cpu.
Even so, the game continues to go as slow as I indicate, in fact I have had to stop playing because it is unplayable.
oh, and the fps fluctuate between 5 and 40, I have even seen 3.
and i have a lot of stuttering.
