Has anyone else watched The Get Down Netflix Original?
It’s set in '77-'78 New York’s Bronx and concerns the rise of hip hop alongside the shining star of disco of the time. As for how close to truth the story is I don’t know but it made for a damn good tale here. In the last episode they even had a young Dee Dee Ramone making an appearance supposedly influencing one of the main stars of the show on her trip to disco fame, which I thought was awesome.
Netflix has some floppy shows but sometimes when they hit it out of the park they clear the parking lot and three streets over into the nearest hood. Great show. Watch it.
