I wanted to discuss about something that I felt somehow disappointing. I like the game and everything in it, I have clocked 700 hours gameplay just in the original game alone.
I recently looted these pants. They actually are pretty great and fit my build, so I’m forced to wear them. However, I am bothered about how they are named and described. It breaks the atmosphere playing Grim Dawn creates, atmosphere that no other game can create.
Nothing wrong with the pants stats and I like the passive (which is also questionably described).
What do you guys think about this? I don’t know if there is a post about this already but I would be honored if this message reached the developers. Don’t ruin the great atmosphere with lame jokes like this. If you are out of ideas about naming items, ask the community or something. I want them renamed >:(
You guys seem to be totally ok with this and I’m clad you are replying. However I still disagree and would like to see them renamed. Please even come up with a better joke.
I’m 27 and totally ok with poop jokes. Maybe my pants could be renamed epic diapers or something.
A game about post-apocalyptic human survival without any levity doesn’t sound very human. Don’t let the aetherials turn you into mindless zombies! Wear your pants!
The thing is… The grimmer (darker/more hopeless/cruel/and so on) gets the atmosphere, the more is the chance, that it will all look absurdly or — and THAT would be even worse — cringy. The devs need those jokes to lower the level of seriousness and avoid escalating it to the level of spanish shame.
And I’m not even mentioning the unique… trace (sounds way too good to avoid this word in the context of soiled trousers) those jokes are leaving in both Titan Quest and Grim Dawn.
