Okay this afternoon I accidentally clicked something that made me side with that witch in Fort Ikon, the one belonging to the Outcast. ( Some Captain actually wanted me to kill her … not side with her. )
I have a backup of my game saves, but that backup is from when my char was level 44,( Close to 45. ) and she is now half way to level 49. So I am not going to redo those levels. The reason why I ask if the possible quests for The Outcast are worth doing should be known to the veteran players. The Black legion do not like that witch, when I sided with her I lost 250 rep with the legion.
So I guess I will lose rep with the legion every time I do a quest for that witch?
Are the quest woth it? Well, they were fun. And I would always side with her because she seems a little bit strange, but I like her. And she has really good augments to sell.
Might be, but it can´t be much. You can always make a bounty for Iron Legion and get it back (and more). Finally, you can have both factions on “Revered”.
Depends on how fond you are of rogue-like dungeons since she has all of them for you to deal with: Steps of Torment, Bastion of Chaos and Port Valbury. Since they need skeletons keys which you need to craft and also you can only try them once per play session they can be somewhat annoying if like me you die more often than you succeed.
You lose a little faction with each quest, but you gain a lot more from her. She has good augments available, so I say it’s worth it. If you side with her, you get faction augments from both factions, if you don’t, you only get black legion.
The bastion of chaos quest she gives rewards a relic blueprint and the valbury one rewards a legendary (although on normal it’s an epic). Worth it, also because the target bosses remain for future dungeon runs.
The lost black legion standing takes about five minutes to earn back in Malmouth, it doesn’t matter at all anymore.
Her reputation has the only +10% aether resist augment in the game, and the whole of act 6 is aether damage. It’s worth considering for that alone. I usually do her first two quests on each difficulty just because one each of the original 3 rare crafting mats for a bucket of xp is awesome, and if you side with Death’s Vigil you have to go right next door to kalis ka to finish out their quest line anyways so you may as well do that quest too. The rep lost from those quests can be recouped with a single Black Legion bounty.
I used to skip her quests and the rogue-like dungeons on the first difficulty before the expansion came out.
With Ashes of Malmouth I find it helpful to enter these dungeons. I agree with Avyctes - you will also catch up with the Black Legion once you are in Malmouth, so the reputation loss is no deal anymore.
You can side without without even doing her quests. You will take 250 rep hit to Black Legion, and gain rep by killing Aetherials. There is little gained by not siding with her.
Hmm that Aether resist augment does make it interesting, and it seems to be the most difficult resist to build up. ( Using an Aether ward when needed right now.) And my blademaster is with Death’s Vigil.
Well I already sided with her. ( By accident, but stil. ) Alright I will help her out then and start doing Bounty quests for the Black Legion, and catch up more in AoM.
Personally? I gain access to more augments and a “free” legendary for doing a bunch of things I would mostly do anyway. The only time I wouldn’t side with the Outcasts is when I want the potential to access to Anasteria’s MI with that character - and then only with characters that should do well vs her.
But I saw the name Kalis-Ka mentioned in here, and funny enough I fought and killed Kalis-Ka The Bonehunter at level 36 while on a Bounty quest in that area.
Now that was a dangerous fight, hat to run a lot and switch back and forth between ranged attacks and melee. Been walking around with that Fang in my inventory for the past 12 levels without knowing what to do with it. So it seems that in a way I already sided with that Witch long before I knew she existed.
I’ve ran 3 toons through all 3 difficulties including AoM, and w/o doing any of her quests i got to revered before I even hit AoM Ult, in both black legion and outcasts.
You get sick rep from AoM areas for both. only do the quests if you want the rewards (and/or need some exp grind). So yeah, it’s worth “siding” with her, considering you can still build Black legion rep with outcasts at the same time (unlike death vigil/kymon’s deal).
Indeed, you lose reputation with many of her quests. Bounties, too.
It’s annoying, which is why I sided against her with my Cabalist. I plan to get my reputation up to Revered with the Legion, get some +100% reputation documents for other characters, then side with Anastheria on Elite and Ultimate.
In general though, she has some pretty awesome Elemental/Aether damage gear, so with a such a character, you best side with her. Physical builds and those with pets are better off with the Legion on Normal. But later, you will want her Augments above level 70, as they add some hard to find resistances.
Also, one of her quests gives you Rare components: https://grimdawn.gamepedia.com/Secrets_of_the_Lost
I think the Unraveler is in the Bastion of Chaos regardless of your standing with Anastheria. I found it there even though I was hostile with the Outcast. Not sure on the others.
And yes, now it is much easier to get Black Legion reputation up, though it is not until Act 6 you start encountering the Aetherial Vanguard.
Why Kill her, just side with her on normal, even if you do all her quests on normal you can skip them on elite and still have revered with the Legion by the time you get to act six in elite without any difficulty. She levels off beasts which are really common.
