The Pain of Waiting! What can I do to pass time?

Every single day as I wake up I keep telling myself thats its another day closer to the release date. But I am losing sanity. Even when I sleep, I shower and do regular routines I cant stop thinking about forgotten godd thats its affecting my life and its been detrimental to my health.

I have never experienced any thing like this before and I am losing my head. How are you guys coping up? I wanna hear how you are surviving this waiting game. Please share your experiences and any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

P.S.

The best advise given and you will get a copy of forgotten gods in Steam. I will select the best one after the release date is announced.

Somehow I’m coping just fine. :stuck_out_tongue:

Have you tried cold showers?

You mean theorycrafting all those Paladin ideas isn’t keeping you busy?

thanks. might as well do that before it becomes impossible during the summer here.

not when grimtools is incomplete :stuck_out_tongue:

4 things I do while waiting:

  • Farm for legendaries to re-stock for trading in FG (if I need new items); I gave all my old items away
  • thinking roughly about Dervish, but not very much because missing constellations and items
  • reading a novel (if you want I can recommend a nice series)
  • planing with friends for a RPG-Weekend in summer; “Bookhounds of London” will be the setting

Try playing mods, like Grimarillion. So many mastery combos to choose from:D
It’s fun and challenging, though there are plenty of things that could be balanced. Still, it’s a really nice way to pass time until FG saves us from boredom. At least for me.
P.S. There are some mastery combos in Grimarillion that will make the wait for the Paladin a bit easier

Says a playtester…

Make fan art. Draw stuff when you think of GD.

The anticipation may end up being more memorable than the reward.

Try some Mods. Grimarillion and Apocalypse are pretty good to start with…

Play something else and/or take a walk/run , go to gym, read some comics/books. Go watch a movie (the mule by clint eastwood is a great one), the usual stuff. Whatever you do don’t embrace the dark side of the force.

Honestly, FG is so overhyped that I actually lost interest. I’ll probably only craft few builds after its release but still not even touch it. I also went back to playing Titan Quest, and I don’t feel that I wanna play Grim Dawn anymore.

There’s a possibility I’ll also quit playing GD for a longer period of time or completely. :stuck_out_tongue:

Trail of Chulthu hype! Chthon will be so proud :stuck_out_tongue:

I really wanted to give Grimarillion a try but something tells me there is a paladin there but I am not sure if its better than Crate’s one. I might check it out.

Damn. I got toyed by adoom. Never going to trust any playtesters from now on.

Apocalypse? Thats sound depressing but will see.

Nice quote. This gives me a lot of hope. I always appreciate people holding in to the light. Your example of faith is worthy of a holy badge.

Not sure if I can come back to TQ at this time. Besides tq paladin is not so good. But hey I respect your preference:cool:

TQ classes, D3 classes, and some unique ones made by Ceno. There’s 2 classes that are “kinda” paladin ish, Crusader and Champion.

oh another playtester in the name of Sir Asylum? Not sure if I will trust again but you sound so sincere so I will check it out. More paladin choices is always fun. Thank you!

There’s definitely a Paladin in Grimarillion - it’s the TQIT combo of Storm/Defense.

You can see most of the various combos in this thread.

How many have changed though I don’t know as I haven’t played the mod for a while now.

It’s just a title in my case, I hardly playtest anymore. I spend more time maintaining grimarillion than anything nowadays.

Buy the cheapest flight to somewhere interesting you haven’t been before and take a weekend vacation. Tucson was it for me. Flight + lodging + car rental for under $300. Tucson is gorgeous, awesome hiking, Mexican food galore, interesting museums, Sonoita/Elgin wine country nearby. Definitely returning at some point.

For a home alternative, I’d suggest learning something on Udemy. Find anything that interests you that is taught by Colt Steele, he’s the best instructor I’ve ever had. I’m currently working through his Python and Web Development bootcamps.

I have been playing a lot of Eternal lately. It is a great collectible card game; much closer to Magic the Gathering than Hearthstone in terms of depth and complexity and by far the most free-to-play friendly game of this type. It is a different genre than Grim Dawn and you only have to put as much time as you care to in it (just winning one game per day wins you a free pack of 12 cards), so you can ease off of it no problem when Forgotten Gods finally comes out.

If you use my invite code you will get a free pre-built deck when you complete the tutorial: https://www.direwolfdigital.com/eternal/register/?ref=01f96665-b09e-4f7c-a7d7-f733963d961f

Also you can get the first campaign (like the adventures Hearthstone used to have - lots of cards for completing some solo content) for free. I don’t have the URL handy but if you reply here or message me I will be glad to get that for you should you decide to check out this excellent diversion!

wtf, I rarely visit this forums, just came to search for a release date, and in the 3 posts Ive opened, there was this guy complaining about how overhyped the expansion is. If you arent enjoying it why do I see you wasting time in every topic I open?

Because he lives in hope that he’ll eventually manage to earn a ban. Must try harder though.

Take a deep breath and relax. I guess a lot of people are annoyed by these never ending teases from Crate, you’re not alone in this struggle.
Ever had a build that you never got around to level? Now it’s a good time to do that. BUT! Grim Dawn aside - I’d suggest playing something else to pass time. I.E. I’ve been enjoying Monster Hunter World way more than I expected, spent ~140 hours in last two weeks on it xD I’m 100% positive that there is a game that you will enjoy just as much :stuck_out_tongue:
In a few weeks we will get this damn xpack, the wait is almost over. Stay strong <3
