The small or not very small details in GD I love

Hi, all ! I might finally claim I am to some extent “familiar with” the game, after let me say “enough” gameplay hours, so I decided to share some thoughts. Mostly positive ofc. , but also some minor stuff that was not so good. I am a HF gamer that has too much real life and a family but GD STILL MOTIVATED ME TO invest some time in — well, playing it!
So, briefly put : I am content, cause I finally have an RPG than is interesting enough / just for the sake of honesty - I am 30+ y old !, so few games make an impression on me these days / The details are what makes a game great or bad. DONT YOU AGREE?

I wish to express some thoughts , so this is why I created this post. Nothing to gain from this, nothing to lose.
So, my small list of positive stuff is [ I wish I could have said this years ago when the game appeared but sadly I started playing it too late , i.e. in July , better late than never ] :

  1. Very smart maps, I mean the way different dungeons are designed, plus I love the hidden stuff /going “out” of the minimap is nice/ and the maze style, … I enjoy the "fake " chests , too  LOL. The devil is in the details !
  2. The loot dropping is balanced and is as a whole well-done. I am glad.
  3. The way people mix 2 classes as they enjoy to mix them is amazing [ this is not a detail, it is a huge in-game feature, but I had to put it in my detail list ]
  4. The detail that one might find “good enough” green items, or almost “good enough” ! This is a huge plus. Being dependent on some 2 runes or 3 particular legendaries is a bit dull and I never enjoyed that in D II.
  5. The detail that people use MANY skills late game , not just 1 or 2 skills per class is what makes GD a better hack and slash RPG.
  6. The wild west style in some levels is fun and it feels as a part the story, even though I dislike mixing axes and hammers with rifles, but in this particular case - it is cool.
  7. VENDORS make sense ! I mean it, as I am used to “useless” vendors, where you just sell stuff you find shi**y - in GD the devs created possibilities to really include a vendor in your build.
  8. The amount of stats and the way people combine them
  9. The smart portals that just stay there for multiple travels, if I need to…
  10. I love the constellation system, since it provides great variety and stimulates the thinking when you wish to build a character correctly.
  11. The fun of NOT USING GOLD is something I noticed in my first day in GD. Iron pieces is the currency - huraaaay

What I found not so cool  >>>

  1. the lack of main char customization option in terms of appearance/ civilisation traits…

  2. the way items look in my inventory, I mean the old-toilet-door-shield for ex. To be honest, nothing looks as great as items looked in Diablo II IMHO, and I have seen may RPGs / I mean the pictures inside the inventory /

  3. No throwing knives / axes / javellins / stones makes me SAD … I am kidding about throwing stones  Oh,well.

Otherwise, I am happy with GD in general and I wish the studio even more success in the future.
Too bad that in about 20 days I might have to abandon the game or to dramatically reduce game times, due to real life stuff .

Nice essay! But little correction, you can throw knives, skill is called Phantasmal blades!

Lack of customization is one of the things I noticed first. But since most of your body is covered by armor , it doesn’t really matter. And you can use illusions to change how armor appears.

Of course everything can be forgiven, when you take into account dual class system!
