The State of Early Access - Update #06

I would just so love to see’em releasing it Sunday literally one minute before midnight

It’d be nice to be able to trigger raids manually (with relevant options about size, number of fronts, and ‘type’ of raid). Sometimes I find myself wanting to start in pacifist mode so I can make my town pretty without the pressure of defending against raids, but I still want to test my defenses eventually. Or just unleash heck on my people: a bit like the disaster buttons in SimCity.

so i lke that idea but with a twist. the twist being banking say half the raid. 1 st raid 18 then nine to the bank other nine vanish 2nd raid 20 so 10 to the bank. now if you hit the raid button you have a raid of 19. do this for 50 to 75 years lol hope you defense hold

Love the roadmap you guys planned out. Absolutely 10/10 stuff.
If anything can you add even harder difficulties for the sadistic people? I find myself blasting through the hardest map tier and difficulty levels with ease. Could you consider making a game mod that requires you to have hundreds of hours in the game to prevail in? Cause the second you have 3 cavalry stables with lancers its GG they run over 200 raiders without even thinking about it.
In other words, were people that prefer to play hardcore and like having to go again hours upon hours in the game, would love a bone for us. you know, endless play hardest difficulty frost punk, deity lovers in Civ and so on. Make us sweat for hundreds of hours trying to micromanage the living crap out of each poor soul having to suffer under our command.

I already love the mini-map, and especially the ability to find resources. I also love the crop summary, and the ability to go to each field using it – because I’m forever forgetting where I put my fields! Would it make any sense to include arborist locations in the crop summary? Could we have something similar for our animals (barns, goat barns, chicken coops, etc). I keep forgetting where I put them, too!

And thank you for giving us pacifist players the option for bears and wolves! (I wanna get greedy and ask for boars, too – more meat!)

I’m looking forward to the customizations, the tech tree, and more. Or is that “moar?” (I’m 77 and not up on all the lingo; can someone tell me what “moar” means?)

It has been a terrific experience for this “granny gamer” to be in on this Early Access. It has been a unique experience in my several decades of computer gaming to have had such an opportunity to have my say in the development of a game. You guys and gals at Crate Entertainment rock!

Although Zantai only mentioned wolves and bears in the OP I suspect boars will also be included since the choice will be animals or no animals.

Good to see another oldie enjoying their gaming (I’m coming up on 72). “Moar” is just a slang version of “more”. Crate are always giving us both.

Developers, great job, thank you for the insight i have played for quiet a bit this game, beat it a few times, and there is one thing that i think it should be looked at. The forest shacks, its a bit boring and time consuming having to be manually changing the work area every single time, it gets to the point that i rather make 10 of them and cover the whole place then to keep moving it around, maybe a automatic feature that would make the worker gather, automatically if the work area is already empty. But that’s just my 2 cents, don’t even know if you guys will ever read this. Thank you for a great city builder cant wait for the future.

Welcome to the forum. :slightly_smiling_face:

Have you upgraded them to t2 so they can plant as well as cut trees?

Im talking about the ones that collect berries and greens maybe i typed wrong

Thought you meant work camps which cut trees and gather stone. Foragers gather herbs, berries, etc.

With a town above 2,500 I have decided to almost cover the map with Foragers. I first started looking for “5 available item types” (green arrows) when placing, then later in the game, 4 types, then 3 types etc. The reason is that some items cannot be made in any other way. Yes, they become idle soon. The game hints that these are useful “early in the game”, but that’s incorrect. They are alwasy needed for willow, for example, which cannot be farmed. Maybe some kind of “level 2” may help on these, or some way to make gardens and plant items? I don’t move them, as I often have over 400 available labor, so don’t need to free up workers.

Thank you for your prompt reply. Y’all are so helpful! Thanks for your answer about “moar.”

Granny gamers FTW!

Hello,

Do you plan of adding setting to increase frequency of Raider/Invading army attack? Or maybe change the Ark of the vengeful dead relic usage.
Late game is little bit bore now, really want to challenge the army & defend.

Any chance of getting a multi select for roads like we have for walls, upgrading all the roads 1 by 1 is really irritating

Praying and hoping that 9.6 playtest will be soon. It’s been so long…

Not quite a month since v0.9.5 went live.

Well it feels like longer. :unamused:

Oh, I agree. Can’t wait to start testing v0.9.6. But also know that Crate will only put it out there for testing when they decide it’s ready for that. There’s a lot of nice little features coming with this patch and then there’s also that quaint little cottage Zan posted the other day. Who knows what else Crate’s MOAR addiction may have added to the patch.

I hope this will come in future updates.

This is the patch I’m most excited for because I’ve been wanting to see my villagers interact with town buildings since I first got the game. It’s just visual detail but it adds so much to immersion and feel. And yes Crate’s addiction to MOAR is quite impressive. Every new patch has something extra that wasn’t in the scope they initially mentioned.
