The State of Early Access - Update #07

I’m always happy to receive moar, even if it takes a little longer. The monuments look awesome, I especially love the greenhouse.

Thanks for update!
Is there any expected release Date for playtest?

Welcome to the forum. :slightly_smiling_face:

So, I’m thinking about this more, and I’m sure the answer will come in time, but I’m wondering about that “any foraged plants that are available” part: Does this mean that if, for example, the map doesn’t have any medicinal roots, the forager can’t plant them? Similarly, if the only willow is somewhere off in the fog that hasn’t been discovered yet, would that be able to be added to the garden?

As a T2 building, it’s arguably too much investment to treat it as an interface spoiler to use on to find out what plants are on the map, which is good, but I’m just wondering how those two things will work.

Well, Zan said clearly “plants that are available in your settlement’s map” so I assume if you don’t have medicinal roots then no, you can’t plant them. Whether you’d be able to buy some at the trading post and then plant them we’ll have to wait and see.

As for the willow again, I assume no you couldn’t plant it until you uncover it from the fog of war.

You had me at Foragers Garden! It actually brought a few tears to my eyes. Now we’re one step closer to making that Rose Bush plantable like the Blueberries and getting a Perfumery up and running!

Can we get all 3 victory conditions in one town? Would be nice to have all 3 of those buildings in a town.

Ooooohh, perfumery! Now, there’s a wonderful luxury item.

thanks a lot

I will be a bit sentimental now.

I have not experienced a game like Farthest Frontiert. Since 0.9, every new release felt almost like a little DLC for other games. You guys are doing a phenomenal Job! You always were caring for this community and the needs for the players. Any other studio would have released long ego, your wish for quality and MOAR makes playing Early Access such a great experience.

You said: We will support this game (for mods) for years to come in this Update. Well, hurray, I intend to play this game for years to come!

THANK YOU

You are dead wrong about February! Monster Hunter Wilds, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and Avowed to name a few are all highly anticipated games of 2025. I, for one, am going to be poor as hell. Thankfully, I preordered MH:W… but the rest is gonna be pushed off for me… I have absolutely zero room for a smaller title like Farthest Frontier until April at the earliest. Even though it’s not anywhere near the same genre, it’s still a game that has adjacent audiences. Not saying that you should push off till April, LOL. I get it though, it’s a lot better to contend with 3 huge titles than every single publisher pushing christmas sales on ALL titles<-- some of which are direst competitors. All in all, I really hope February is a good call for you guys. I want you to succeed with the simple(and selfish) reason that it might get more focus on GD2 once FF comes out and gets its first few updates.
Sending the teams all my love <3

If I am not misunderstanding I think they agreed with you on February. Spring typically is March to May.

Nothing to contribute to the conversation here except I genuinely love this game and you can tell a lot of thought goes into every aspect of it’s development. I cannot wait for 1.0 and whatever DLC you guys cook up.

P.S. - my only wish - PLEASE fix the terrain flattening tool for using on deep ore veins up on mountains it is the only thing I cannot stand in its current iteration!!

Right you are! I missed the line after saying Dec-Feb sucks. I retract my statement

Amen to all that’s said. The only thing that frustrates me about this game is the Civilization-level of hours and “oh, just one more year” I’m putting into it!

Good luck! FF is my unexpected goty 2024  an oddball request, and definitely a nice to have that doesnt detract from my enjoyment, but any chance for female statues / monuments? since the society is quite egalitarian

I hope I can get the foraging upgrade soon.

The Medium Statue is definitely female.

any news about start of test? cant wait when it will be avaliable

On the 22nd November when this thread was posted:

:crossed_fingers: Moar doesn’t delay it a bit longer.
