I had an idea of a fire/chaos pyromancer not using firestrike or any other typical LMB but rather focuses on actual pyrotechnics/bombs as in BWC/Mines/Nadoes. (And possibly Pick up Hellhound (1/12) with Hellfire to use in defensive mode for the Aura ?)
So much stuff you want to pick up though, I guess BWC/Mines is the way to go ? If you go with the transmute on BWC I guess you’ll be filling the remainder of the rotation with flashbangs/CoF-casts/mines unless you pick up Sigil/Destruction…Too many choices!
I need help narrowing things down a bit, how would you go about building a pyromancer with focus on being an actual pyromancer ? ^^
It’s what i wanted when i started the game. You will be too spread out on skills. It’s either fire strike, either bombs llike grnado or canister. thermites and at least some BWC with/without transmuter is prettymuch a given in any fire build. Hellhound will spread you out even more and won’t survive enough to make good use of the aura.
You have to pick something. Shoot/hit via Fire strike with mines FB bwc…Splosions!..or pets:)
Obviously, you won’t be putting points in the Stun Jacks line, the Fire Strike line or Mortar Trap line so you can move those elsewhere but you’ll still be pretty thin on points, especially if you want to branch out into Occultist.
Yeah, that’s what I feared It’s a shame really, 'cause the concept is very appealing. Done the pet thing with a conjurer already, gets dull pretty quickly. Might be possible to go all out on BWC as a spammable (w/o xmute) and have mines/flashbangs/curse/devo’s to debuff.
Maybe pick up Doom Bolt as a single-targeter to pop between the BWC spam (you’d be picking up possession and other chaos/vita buffs anyways)
Lets talk key devotions: You can get to Dying God while picking up Manticore/Fiend/Witchblade and even Oklaine’s while still getting useful defensive stuff like Eel/Tower (or Wendigo/Behemoth) should you wish it. Questing still remains though, is Dying God worth it ?
You need that points from ocu mastery, go 32 and pick AotG. Also use transmuted BWC you will lack energy to spam it and there is no point in taking something else If you will use spammable BWC.
For facetanking I’d say AotG is required, for ranged playstile I’m not so sure, especiallly with a defensive devotion setup. Would be easy enough to test though, I suppose.
Focusing Prism and a few Ectoplasms could alleviate some of the cost of spamming BWC, and I only really threw in grenado because spamming one attack gets old after a while (even though I’d still be cursing and flashbanging). Grenado will also have it’s cost reduced via Ulzuin’s Chosen.
