Theorycrafting 2H PRM build (spellbinder?)

Hello. Does someone tried to build something like this? Empowered PRM with 44% weapon damage of Temporal Arcblade, full elemental conversion to aether and some flat aether damage. It’s just the basic conception without half of gear pieces and devotions. The goal is to reach 200% casting speed, -%aether resistance and reasonable OA/survivability. Destroy the game content with tons of aether arcane missiles. What should I choose as second mastery to arcanist? Inquisitor seems to be more viable than necro I think.
Can this build be viable for 150 glad cruicible at least? I just haven’t basic gear to test this. Thanks for replies.

Sure, but wouldn’t you be better off with say Mythical Wrath of the ascendent for the RR and off-hand?

Because it’s just interesting for me, what will happen if I took huge flat aether weapon and empower PRM with % of weapon damage. I think wand + off-hand is typical way to play any caster build. Especially there’s at least few strong PRM builds that uses offhand…

Yeah I get what you mean. I did a 2Handed callidor tempest build just to mess with the meta

have you considered this? gives some nice stats and RR to Stormbox https://www.grimtools.com/db/items/7567

The reason why most aether builds use an off-hand is simple: Devastation.

Actually, just Aether PRM builds. My Lightning PRM monster doesn’t even have Devastation. Elemental PRM builds depend on Invoker set while Aether PRM can have quite juicy main-hand/off-hand combo with tons of RR and other stats as well.

Reason why 2h is useless for prm is because even with 44% weapon damage and a two-hander it’s still going to be inferior to main-hand/off-hand combo on all fronts. Weapon damage is a very small part of PRM damage and most of its damage comes from hard-capping main skill and 2nd and 4th nod. Another important thing is mana management, PRM build can be very mana hungry, especially with Devastation, so 2hander will be very uncomfortable to use there.

So yeah, I get that you want to play with a big bad ass sword, but unfortunately it’s 2handers are inferior for casting for almost all spells in the game (except Bone Harvest).

I think the main reason is lack of %WD compared to flat damage. 2h gives minor damage increase against Altritch, Ascendant scepters bonuses, 2nd component and etc.
For a long time I want to see 2h Callidor transmuter, which decrease flat damage and increase %WD.

Btw, devastation still can be used with weapons swap.

How’s this?

then you have to re-apply the weapon component skill when swapping back :stuck_out_tongue:

For aether build it 90+% would be seal of curruption, so no problems with swapping

or Sacred Strike

Right but elemental PRM got a dedicated set and weapons full of mods and maxes everything nice (not to mention Censure) so PRM is powerful on its own. Aether PRM can’t even hardcap the nodes and it’s quite similar to CT in this: it needs devastation to carry it.

I made an arcblade panetti binder and it was pretty underwhelming. Even with my ~bis items it was pretty underwhelming. It gets the job done in campaign, but is nothing special and kinda feels bad tbh
