EDIT
I did some more tests, and the real culprits are “Deferred Rendering” and “Depth of Field” when toggled together. HDR only worsens the effect, and enabling it with the other two options off doesn’t change anything at least on my pc/screen.
I’m in no way an expert on this kind of stuff, but in the playtest HDR lightning option blur and darkened way to much all the environment.
Yes, there is something definitely not working correctly. Are you using Deferred Rendering as well? I noticed if you have HDR Lighting and Deferred Rendering both turned on it does this.
Another similar concern is that there is a green cloud-like effect when in the sand areas and only during the daytime. You may notice it around your character or when you use spells, however, the easiest way to see this effect is when the statues come back to life. They have this “explosion” effect that has the green cloudy effect and can be readily seen.
Here’s what I’m talking about with your screenshot:
Looking at the arrows you can see the slight green effect (kind of blurry from your screenshot) around you character and in the middle of the flame.
Something is definitely going wrong between the Deferred Rendering, Post Processing and HDR Lighting to cause these and other issues like this in the game world.
If this is supposed to be actual real HDR the game probably needs more calibration sliders than a brightness line with no numbers.
If it’s supposed to be fake HDR then whatever I won’t turn it on.
I tried both with and without Deferred Rendering, and at least for me it didn’t change much.
I tried multiple combination of settings, and a part from personal preference, I found that only HDR give real issues.
I will post my complete settings once I get back to home.
The other “visual” offender is in my opinion the “fog” option, but I never really liked it.
