Not a real engaging skill to use. Static damage and RR IS very effective, but I think this skill would be a lot more fun if the mines could be animated. Would be thematic for Demo as well, animating machinery sounds like engineering/sorcery to me. Change could be something along the lines of staying put until they aren’t dealing damage to anything, 2/whatever second delay, then they move to the nearest target within a specified distance or else they blow up. Or whatever qualifier you want to add. Give them a cooldown, a damage penalty, make it a gear modifier, whatever. Keeps the static damage portion intact and doesn’t turn them into player-scaling minions you can take into multiple encounters.
During the alpha they did actually explode after a time limit or upon exceeding summon limit. People would rapidly cast them at enemies setting off multiple AoE explosions, it wasn’t really balanced.
Having them behave like pets might be interesting though (sprout legs and re-bury in a new location). I would be for it, but it’s unlikely to happen.
That’s hilarious. Yeah, I think they’re probably unlikely to change at this point. That’s exactly the image I had in my mind though. Would be pretty cool.
RPG devs dont want automation skills strong, it’s quite lazy design.
