Third Paladin set: Needed?

It’s true I have a skillset in mind, but the thing that actually nudges at me is that we don’t seem to have an elemental Paladin set that fits its theme of “loyal knight”. Octavius is physical rather than elemental, and Bonemonger is aether/elemental, but explicitly embodies a traitor to the Luminari.

So…is there a place for such? If so, should it be pure Oathkeeper/Inquisitor (see: Infernal Champion only benefiting the Demolitionist and Oathkeeper masteries), or should there be a third mastery vertex (Arcanist? We may have enough sets that Mage Hunters can use, but I’d like to see more Templar representation than Vanquisher.)?

The virtue set? The Inquisitor is already over supported no need for another set IMO, I would rather have a SS dervish set.

Or a dedicated aether AAR set lol.

Virtue’s Light only affects Oathkeeper, though. Kind of lopsided, by my lights. (At least, I think players are expected to rely on at least one attack skill from each chosen mastery, rather than be a one-trick pony…)

aar templar set now zantai!!!

While the set does not support the Inq mastery directly it should work well with the Inq mastery due focusing on fire damage and the ability to stack inq seal and (near) permanent ascension.

I’d really like some more elemental melee to take advantage of things like Iskandra’s Elemental Exchange and Mythical Turrion’s Reprisal.

The need for another Dervish set is a good point. It only has one set, period, that directly assists both its masteries, Vileblade Pact. In fact, looking at my chart of which multi-mastery legendary sets assist which classes, we may most need a set whose vertices are Oathkeeper, Nightblade, and Arcanist. Probably cold-based, since Arcanist isn’t exactly acid-oriented, or likely ever to be acid-orientable.

Just so we have a sense of what attack skills we may want to avoid, so as to reduce redundancy risks…

DERVISH SETS:
–Vileblade Pact
—Bolsters primarily Amarasta’s Blade Burst, Righteous Fervor

TEMPLAR SETS:
–Vanquisher
—Bolsters primarily Callidor’s Tempest, Vire’s Might

SPELLBREAKER SETS:
–Harra’s Artifice
—Bolsters primarily Phantasmal Blades, Callidor’s Tempest
–Mageslayer
—Bolsters primarily Veil of Shadow, Olexra’s Flash Freeze

So at the very least, the Arcanist vertex skill shouldn’t be Callidor’s Tempest. My thinking…

–Nightblade Vertex: Shadow Strike
–Arcanist Vertex: Trozan’s Sky Shard
–Oathkeeper Vertex: Eye of Reckoning??? Shadow Strike in, perform EoR? Not sure how Sky Shard and EoR are going to synergize, though. Aegis of Menhir and Judgment might also be iffy…(This isn’t going to be easy, is it?)

Hmmmn - maybe for Dervish adding some Oathkeeper bonus/transmuters to The Sacred Balance set would be a good idea?

But yeah, overall elemental based melee is still lacking and really does need a set or two + some more single item support.

its not really a set (no set buffs (2), (3),(4) etc), individual pieces with the same name, at least in a fashion way will be nice to have all of mythical dawnshard, Mythical Dawnshard Gaze is the closest of what you want, Rune of kalastor + 1 projectile and aegis menhir converted to elemental, i asked zantai one time about paladin’s sets, items supports etc, i think i will play more FG and then i will give a more appropriate feedback on this regard.

Obs: Mythical Empyrion’s Mercy (150 Elemental Damage to Horn of Gandarr
100% Piercing Damage converted to Elemental Damage to Horn of Gandarr) could give some options for your “Elementadin”, i will play Paladin only, i can give you some ideas or help with theorycraft xD.

some ideas.

Dervish has almost nothing to support Eye of Reckoning, which suits his dual blade style perfectly. Also he has almost nothing for a poison (not acid!) focused build, which is fantastic concept for EoR.
