This game Cheats, it's not letting me exploit!

Just Kidding, but is it frowned upon to use the mod Smash and Grab? I tried playing veteran on regular but it was taking to long. My days of spending 8 hours a day on a game learning all the ins and outs are behind me, I just want to have fun farming stuff over and over for no reason. So I downloaded Smash and Grab. much fun working through Elite. I might go back to normal. but i have a few questions.

  1. on Elite some of the Altars are missing, is this because the mod i’m using or is this the way it is?
  2. I’m playing an Elementalist, Firestrike/Weeds/Swarm in elite level 85, is there any blue set armor better then legendary or should I just hide all but Purple?
  3. Is there a way to transfer my modded toon to the regular game once I get the maxed faction for the Faction bonus things and the potions or do I have to keep the modded game separate from the regular game?

Thank you.

Using mods/modded characters is fine, go crazy. Only things frowned upon - making bug reports when using mods/modded characters (cause then the devs spend time trying to chase down a bug that was caused by your messing with the game) or bringing less than legit characters into multiplayer (pick-up only obviously). Pretty sure this goes for trading your “ill-gotten” gains too.

  1. That is just the way shrines work, unless you use one of those stones that forces the unlock of elite/ultimate I guess?

  2. Frequently the best of the best items in game are actually green (ie double “rare” MIs, I put rare in quotes because sometimes of attack/readiness/damage type here/alacrity can perform almost as well as a rare affix). Blues are useful in most slots (sometimes) and best in slot rarely. Also useful to blow up with dynamite for extra components.

  3. GDstash has a button to tell the game if the character belongs in a mod or not under the character editor tab. It certainly looks like you could transfer a character to a mod…and I know I managed it once upon a time going the other direction using GDstash and the Cornicopia mod but I forget how. I just remember I had to sort out some very odd bugs before it worked right.

Most certainly not! The game is fully moddable and the devs encourage the modding community to make all sorts of mods for the game. GD is mainly a single player game so play it however you want.

As for your questions:

  1. I assume you just have the base game and/or Ashes of Malmouth? And that you mean the shrines you find scattered throughout Cairn. If these are correct then know that there are less shrines in Elite than in Normal in the base game/AoM and even less in Ultimate. Even so there are more than enough to get the maximum devotion points. If you have Forgotten Gods then that ratio is reversed with the most shrines to be found in Ultimate, less in Elite and even less in Normal.

  2. Can’t really help much with this as you might find some good greens/blues that help your character.

  3. Not sure what you mean by this. Unless you’re using a mod that you have to choose from the Custom Game menu in the main menu screen then you are in the regular game.

Thank you for both of your responses.
