Is it just me, or is it one of the strongest T2 celestial powers?
I feel like it’s on par with say Leviathian’s whirlpool.
It is very good. Shotgun, DoT , CC in 2x layers. You just need a reliable way to proc it
I have a Spellbreaker, all I can say is T3 Leviathan pool is somehow weaker than T2 Blizzard (better dmg, better effects). It is one of the strongest non-RR T2.
Proc is good, rest of the constellation is meh. If a build doesn’t have massive chunks of CDR on it I don’t usually consider amatok.
As others mentioned, strong proc with CC, nodes aren’t amazing for Cold builds but good for Frostburn due to % duration and some flat damage.
Only thing I have to say is be careful with it on Reflective heroes :rolleyes:
The constellation got buffed several times and IIRC nerfed slightly once too, but overall it’s one of the best.
Shotgun aspect with WD is very strong.
Is the rest of the constellation truly meh?
Ignoring the nodes needed to get to blizzard - It gives 30 DA with 25% cold resist, flat frostburn damage, 100HP and increased cold/frostburn damage!
I suppose the affinity yield for amatok is poor, but for those benefits? C’mon! 
The cold res is useless to any cold build but for frostburn builds the cluster is good.
For cold damage-focused builds you’re often better off just pathing to Blizzard and ignoring the remaining 2-3 points.
I’m a little confused on the mechanics per proc description.
Is it that every mob within a 5m target radius gets a 2m application of the effects? Of which only the non-dot will overlap.
So the effective damage radius could be 5+2+2 (in the case of mobs just on the edge of the 5)?
It’s similar to Trozan’s Sky Shards I think. Meter target area refers to the area in which the shards can fall randomly and meter radius is the size of each individual projectile shard.
As already mentioned by other players, blizzard is good. I think it’s even better than whirlpool in a build with a good weapon damage sheet (about 20k above). Its shotgun effect can increase your damage output tremendously.

I am a huge fan of Blizzard. What makes it really shine to me is how easy it is to get. It takes only 4 points in constellation and the affinities required for the constellation are very easy to meet. Every single pet build will already have 4 Eldritch and 6 Primordial.
The damage is also very good, both AoE and single target.
It rains ice from the sky, therefore it is the best devotion in the game regardless of its stats.
The skill is called Blizzard, that alone makes it the best devotion skill
I love it on my 45% cdr spellbreaker, it shreds monsters with its sharp icicles, great devotion, great proc.
Works wonders on ele to vitality conversion builds with a lot of %wd.
A great staple being bound to chill spikes with my cold frostburn infiltrator
Also really amazing with any Beronath-Reforged-build if you can squeeze it in. Turns the ice into chunks of metal I suppose. 
Like a lot of people I also skip the other nodes on Amatok usually.

Looks to be this way. From what I can tell on the dummy, it has 2-6 random shards; most often 3 or 4

Well, I’m not really a pet build, but I stuck in on the Deathstalker Manticore. With 100% cold->acid the manticore actually kills stuff now. It’s amusing.
The proc CD spans all pets, I’d hope…otherwise this would be crazy if each pet had its own individual CD. (thinking of skeleton packs and such)
You are correct. Pets and pseudo pets share a cooldown on devotion skills (so no 4x storm totems all procing ele storm or 9 skeletons procing meteor…also why skele builds use the 0 cd devo proc of flame torrent)
