Thoughts on the new Crucible

The one using Thermite Mines too? Didn’t think about it.

I started this Purifier a few minutes ago.

Since it’s ranged, guess I have a chance, no? Not sure about Fumble/Impaired Aim destroying the build… hahaha

I know the only real way to know for sure is testing it, just want to know your guys opinion.

Edit: kind sad that not all builds can make it. I understand some been faster then others, but not been able at all sounds bad.
Edit2: WTF, it’s your build!!! HAHAHAHA Didn’t see at first. The build looks amazing, and the first image made me laugh!

I just remembered, it was the Twisted Rune. Those guys were pretty tough.

Glad you like it:D. The terminator might have a chance cause it’s ranged + Dots. But i’ll have to test to make sure.

I loldps’d that build to wave 168 where I died of ground damage. 100-168 took about 30m which is surprisingly fast but I don’t think it can handle 170.
If Crate tone the new waves down I think we’ll get a chance actually, at the current state even BWC commandos have problem like Fluff said.

On Round 16, dunno what wave 161-165 i think… there are meteors that can one shot anyone except ultra tanks…why ? Who spawns them ? The map/round or an enemy ? again…why ? why so OP ?

Alexander

Because he can

Alexander - nemesis. You need better defensive stats to survive his meteor.

He makes for a great experience in Malmouth as well, where he’s impossible to find unless you aren’t looking for him and then just get decked with a meteor while he’s hidden behind a ton of aetherial golems.

At current state Im reliably farming 150-170 with no MI BWC commando w/o buffs and banners.

and @ Jov. I meant straight up melee phys commando not BWC. I can do even pyromancer BWC with off-hand that i how good BWC is

Whoops, I misread fluff’s original comment for some reason

I checked out a few of the Gladiator videos, and it looks like the Sentinel is a guaranteed spawn on Wave 159, along with the previous wave 99 and possible use on wave 149. Let’s go through what this guy does:

Fire projectiles in a nova
Initial use timeout: 5 Seconds
Delay until next use: 8 Seconds
Range: Medium
6 Projectile(s)
100% Chance to pass through Enemies
0.1 Meter Radius
672 Physical Damage
406 Internal Trauma over 2 Seconds
Stun target for 0.8 Seconds
33 Reduced target’s Resistances for 3 Seconds

Okay, so far that sounds like standard stuff. Now this is just the beginning:

Fire a damaging wave
Initial use timeout: 2 Seconds
Delay until next use: 6 Seconds
Range: Short
48 Energy Cost
13 Meter Range
154-348 Fire Damage
282 Acid Damage
1360 Burn Damage over 5 Seconds
75% Reduced target’s Damage for 3 Seconds

Yes, that’s 75% damage reduction on 50% uptime. 75%! :amIhavingfunyet:

Sentinel’s Beacon:

Toggled aura that applies a buff/debuff
⤷ Buff
Cast on spawn
9 Meter Radius
+25% Offensive Ability
+12% Defensive Ability
+308 Health Regenerated per second
Increases Health Regeneration by 250%
+50% Total Speed

Hope you don’t have any Notched Bone humans with that 25% OA bonus, not to mention what happens when you come across a Regenerating or Leeching mutator. Oh, and every attack he does has a chance to spawn adds, so if you don’t have AoE attacks that can kill them in one swing, you’re in for a long time. :amIhavingfunyet:

Last but not least, here’s the real RIP to anyone using pets:

AoE attack
Initial use timeout: 12 Seconds
Delay until next use: 15 Seconds
Chance to use after delay: 90%
Range: Medium
10 Meter Target Area
1278 Acid Damage
35% Reduction to Enemy’s Health
2392 Poison Damage over 8 Seconds
Control target’s mind for 3 Seconds

So not only does Summoners’ DPS drop to zero with no ways of avoiding it, but you also have your pets attacking you along with every other monster that’s gunning for you. Oh, and by the way, all those Hero and Boss monsters you’ve been trying to beat but can’t get past their Sentinel’s Beacon buffs? They just spawned 10 new adds. :amIhavingfunyet:

RIP anyone who can’t get past the Sentinel and every other Hero that spawns adds, which probably includes full melee with the 75% damage reduction 50% of the time. Give them any breathing room at all and the number of adds that spawn is nuts.

And if you have a shitty pc, Zantarin can just melt your pc with all the adds he summons, especially since you always kill him last in a multi-nemesis wave.

Really, Sentinel is the LEAST of your worries.

@changes:

Trololol…

This is why i made sure to get all glad crucible related achievements and farm as much as i could during Seal of Blades (exploit) when expansion got released. Crucible difficulty was bound to spike up/reworked due to the Expansion and new Nemesis.

75% damage reduction with 50% uptime isnt that bad, actually. It wont affect DoTs much, for example, so builds that inflict DoT damage, wont suffer much. DoTs applied while damage reduction is off, will retain their full power.
There are far, FAR worse abilities in Crucible, believe me.
For example, in 149 wave (when Sentinel has chance to spawn), the REAL danger comes from Bloodlord Thalonis + Sharzul + Sentinel/Lucius combo. Thalonis can reduce your resistances with curse, and it stacks with Sentinel/Lucius RR, Sharzul not only drastically reduces your damage all the time, but also deals very high damage. And too high when your resistances are double-reduced!

And 750 HP/sec regen when players deal 100k+ DPS? Does it matters at all, lol?

Not Valdaran teleporting you in a bloodpool meteor from Alex + Kubra?

Sure, this too. But i specifically noted something from pre-151 waves, because 159-170 waves are absolutely INSANE!

bennjahr + Gravathul is another cancerous combo, if you got debuffed you going to be dead. This thing wiped my cabalist + 3.6K DA druid along with our fire strike commando.

Reaper of lost is Ravager spooking us by pretending to be an average nemesis

Im also very curious if any pet build can solo the new waves, because if Alexander appears in any wave you can expect a team wipe.

Don’t forget the +25% OA that Sentinel’s beacons provide. Combine stacked reduced resistances and high crit damage and builds will have a hard time getting hit by all of that at once (unless you’re one of the Chinese 5,000 DA builds who can handle any sort of enemy +OA bonuses)

Sentinel would be much more tolerable if it weren’t for the mind control blast, as not only do pet builds’ main source of DPS drop down to 0, but now they’re actively attacking you. Unlike stuns /freezes / petrifies, there’s no way to provide pets resistance to mind control, so timing your mastery pets respawn and holding off on temporary pets until after the blast is all you can do, and item-granted pets have far too long of a respawn, so you’re stuck with having to put up with them attacking you. At least with my Conjurer, who can farm 100-150 fairly reliably (depending on how well I focus), I’m not joking when I say that Wave 99 Sentinel with 10-15 heroes, including Timewarped and add-spawning heroes, is much tougher than any Wave 149 combo that doesn’t have the Sentinel in it.

Granted, for high-DPS pet builds (I use a Witching Hour Cabalist to test Crucible viability for those types of builds), Sentinel is far easier, but they have their own “Nemeses,” particularly Iron Maiden + Gabal’Thuun on Wave 140, as Gabal’Thuun has his own Sentinel beacons, and good luck fending off a +25% OA Iron Maiden with extra Crit damage as a pet Summoner. It’s difficult to find the right balance of high DPS with enough survivability to take whatever Mutator luck Crucible brings.
