Three Casters

I have heard people ask where are the caster builds and tried to explain in the forums but this is my first attempt at compiling it. I just want to show noobs and initiates what these look like in a more attainable form over the course of veteran play and for those who wish to play the game an not grind the crucible or hack yourself items. One caveat though, they are component dependent, at least for skills, gear can be substituted with anything that gives a suitable modifier. I farmed all this gear over leveling around 10 characters to around level 30-35 and anything beyond that came mostly from the Druid.

Druid(Lightning/Cold)
She was built around the level 20 Storm Callers Spellblade, Effigy and Circlet that she is still using at level 58 to devastating effect. Gives a boost to Wind Devil and Raging Tempest. There is no lightning caster spell specifically(at least not yet) so she uses deathchill bolts on the effigy for Greater Ice Blast as the main attack spell, and a Coldstone on the blade, and two of those rare pieces proc lightning spheres periodically. Pants and Gloves are part of the Eastern Pledge set and dropped frequently for me after level 50, giving major boosts to lightning and cold and Sky Shard.

She lays down Lightning Storm from the Squall Relic and a wind devil and a storm totem directly between her and the mob. That is usually enough to wipe out the mob instantly. She casts Greater Ice Spike with Blizzard and Lightning Storm has Reckless Tempest. Very effective with lots of flash and flair. A few points in Mavens and Modrogens Pact keeps her fairly tough but she still needs potions often enough. StarPact for the Frostburn on IceSpike and Skyshard since the rest of the abilities do tons of electrocute.

Pyromancer(Fire/Chaos)
The concept is identical except now he has voidblade with doombolt retaliation and Heritics Tome with Flintcore Bolts for a greater Fireblast as the main spell. The tome gives an on attack Chaos Nova and Calamity Relic gives an identical fire spell. Symbol of Solael gives Solaels Flame that does single target damage and a very small AOE, but putting Eldritch Fire on the Flame gives it a spreadable chaos/fire dot effect, and usually the direct damage is more than enough to kill a single target. Otherwise it is just doombolt and Hellhound. The Dog gives some fire chaos bonuses and aggros the mob, and also because if ever you are able to summon a loyal hell hound, you should. Flametouch and Possession for the Modifiers and Offense and Uluzins Flame for the speed health regen and stun. He is pretty complete, and there are other chaos chaos fire ammo you can sub for the fireblast. Just as devastating as the Druid, but very different in playstyle. The rare gear has fireball and chaos bolt Procs.

Occultist(Poision/Vitality)
Again, same idea. This time around the Miasma set, vitriolic Gallstones and Mark of Dreeg. The dagger is the Blade of Nera’Val that boosts Blood Burts and Wasting. The tome gives +2 to Bloody pox. Slot 2 has a Malformed Effigy and a Plagueblood carver that has a skill set bonus that will allow you to keep the bonus to Occult skills and Bloody Pox and allows you to toggle higher cast speed or regen. Uses Bloody Pox with a Manticore sting for the DOT and non-transmuted Dreegs Eye for the main attack. And Soiled Trousers, because…I don’t know, its kinda sick but it tickled me pink when i found them. They give a spam able Skill that lays a carpet of poison. Not in the picture but he uses a Blightshard Amulet and the Blighted Riftscourge summon. And again, Possession. Rare gear gives poision bolt procs. This one will probably be a witch hunter for the poison buff alone from Nightblade, or a shaman for some extra vitality and health buffs. His HP is so low at Level 40 due to not having a second mastery. haven’t taken witch fire yet but I will. The %mainhand draw on the caster skills is small but the modifiers…its all about the modifiers.

It all cases the rare gear are buffing the resists and other gaps, but they all really just destroy most things without trying. There will be other abilities as you go along that you can substitute if you find it suitable. One thing to know about procs, its not any time you cast a spell or attack, it is any time an attack or spell you cast does damage that you get a chance to proc.

If you are familiar with the lore you see a pattern by now if you have walked any distance down a particular hidden path.
