Tim Duncan Day

San Antonio mayor, Ivy Taylor has declared

July 21 as “Tim Duncan Day.” She said that after 19 seasons, five NBA championships and two league MVP awards, declaring a “Tim Duncan Day” will be another way to celebrate the great athlete.

“Tim may not be comfortable with all the attention, but I do think he deserves it,” said Mayor Ivy Taylor. “Besides being one of the greatest players of all time, he’s also an outstanding role model. He taught us how to work hard, win and remain humble. He truly fits the definition of champion, and what better way to honor our most decorated champion than by declaring July 21 as Tim Duncan Day? It will allow fans everywhere to show him just how much he means to us, to our City and to the sports world.”

I never seen Tim getting into a fight with other players or ref, all he does is walk to the bench-sit and shakes his head.

I never was a Spurs fan but I always respected and admired Tim Duncan. He quietly and humbly went about his work and carved out a Hall of Fame career playing the game the right way. I’ll miss him.
