Tinkering with a 2h Forcewave Deathknight - Feedback sought!

Hello,

I’ve dug through a few dozen hours in softcore mode and have taken the jump into hardcore territory. Want an easy class to dig through the content and rush up to all the rep boosters and +exp potions for easier levelling of the more finicky classes.

Soldier is incredibly easy to level and difficult to get killed, and I’m trying to work towards the following kit for super end-game:

https://www.grimtools.com/calc/4ZD6m5w2

But I’ve not got that far yet and want to make sure I’ve not left any huge blindspots. Assume my components and augments will all go towards fixing my acid and aether res (Mankinds vigil, ugdenbog leather etc etc) but would appreciate any feedback from the experts.

Since the set converts physical damage to fire for Forcewave, i believe it’s better to take Oathkeeper instead of Necromancer
Guardians, Presence of Virtue, Ascension, Judgement, Resilience.

Looks like… shit. You are converting Forcewave dmg to fire and you do not scale up fire damage and have no RR to fire :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh my god I did not even spot that. Where does it say it/which bit is doing it?!

EDIT: The gloves! Fuckers!

For physical FW DK you want pieces of Octavius, not that. And for Fire you should select different combo.

For physical FW with that weapon check my Warlord for ideas [1.1.2.4] 2H Forcewave Physical Warlord

PS, check gloves conversion!

I have some end-game Forcewave builds in my beginner guides too for inspiration.
in particular this one for fire https://www.grimtools.com/calc/nZodQPlN

btw reaping strike can not activate from Forcewave since its not a default attack replacer.

if you do not have any gear yet, I can recommend that you look at my death knight and/or warlord build guides for beginners

Cheers lads!

Thank God I didn’t full commit to accidentally, like, quartering my damage :grimacing: :grimacing:
