Hello there im a fairly new grim dawn player 
(150 hours) i almost got one char to lvl 85 and i have asked for help many times on the forums and im here to give something back tips for everyone maybe for new players or something you just forgot
you can do pretty much anything you want in grim dawn except let it be a simulator for how your life is
Tips are mostly for new players but also for veterans
I will add some usefull links and i will add alot more
GENERAL TIPS
-
When nearing a strong monster open a Riftgate before you attack incase you die respawn near the strong monster and quickly get your Grave
-
Enemeys with a star Also drop various rare and good items
-
getting overrun by enemys can kill you even if you have high defense
-
enemys like to drop on you or come out of the ground and can trap you
-Exploring does lead to good treasure in grim dawn
-
Completing qeusts also gives you good rewards in grim dawn
-
you dont have to bother much with resistance in normal (except for chaos in act 4)
-
always carry alot of potions
-
use L to spawn a riftgate and J to look up your factions
-
when you begin save all your components and put them in the bank they be handy later on
-
Debuffing monsters Aggros them towards you Even if you have a pet active
-
when you need iron in higher difficultys pick up all the yellow items so you can sell them this will net you alot of iron
-
you can use your transfer stash as a bank if you have not to many chars yet otherwise use GD stash
-
Shrines that are not completed will be marked on the map
-
If you are ina cave or dungeon hover your mouse over the walls to see if something is breakable
-
Enemeys in normal level with you till around lvl 35
In certain places they level up with you more like in steps of torment and bastion of chaos -
In the necropolis you will find a smith who can trade Rare materials with each other (blood of chton for tainted brain etc) for a fee ofcourse
TIPS FOR ELITE OR ULTIMATE
-Enemys in ultimate are always higher then you
-Some enemys can reduce your resistance! try to use equips that can boost your max resists(for really tough fights)
-
Enemeys in Elite spawn with you till lvl 70 (some exceptions like hero and boss monsters)
-
Having low resistance gets you killed in ultimate and or elite (by tough enemys)
CLASS TIPS
-
All classes are good all combis are good its how you build them and what gear you use (gear can define your build) or you can farm gear for your build
-
Pure classes can be good at endgame you will be lacking stats but more skillpoints in one class can make up for it if you do it well
less stats include:
Less physiqeu
Less health
Less energy
Thus pure classes should be considerd a reall challenge for people who like it
Someone pointed out ointments could help im not sure how they work yet

Yellow items can sometimes be better as epic or legendary (depending on item stats etc)

Try different builds till you get what you are looking for

if you cant cap your resistance keep different sets for monsters you are going to kill

- There is a hidden shop in blood grove when you go out of rift and walk towards grover mill follow path dawn a little bit till you see a road going into the water (kind of a path) and follow it his name is benevald
Keep your bag of salt it will come in handy
TIPS FOR FARMING
-
Serrated spikes can be farmed in wesp nests
Another good spot is in dermapeteran hives and mobs (Dont know name good but the bug things :D) -
Rare crafting material (tainted brains/blood of chton/ ancient hearts ec) can be farmed by killing Act bosses over and over (krieg the warden, darius cronley,Karroz the unraveler and the loghorean

need gear? Need better items? Try to hunt hero’s
enter twin falls Rift and go into old arkovian undercity and clear it till the end you will get alot of items
another good spot is the Steps of torment (DIFFICULT) only go in prepared!!!
(TIP AT STAGE 3 THERE IS A GATE PREPARE BEFORE OPENING!!!) after the gate you cant die or make a rift
Bastion of chaos is at the end of World (litteraly) its after the necropolis and the gate of loghorean (where you can see the opening) its a chtonic rift and has alot of hero’S
Everyone has there own farming spot these are just tips find your own if you can.
- Chipped claws can be found by slith in act 1 in hargates labarotory (also frozen hearts) Harpys in broken hill also drop them
Also in act 3 and act 4 there are chtonic rifts which can also drop chipped claws (still very random)
Ectoplasm can be farmed in the arkovian undercity (the ghosts) on ultimate they drop vengefull wraith to (still a rare component)
Everyone is gonna need some olerons blood parts and chains of oleron right?
My best spot is kilrian (at the end of arkovian undercity)
I get one usually 1 in 5 runs still not very good but the best i could find
- a lot of people have blademaster and need slicers the best place i can seem to find them is from qeeun in the hive in the croplands and her minions.
outside her den where the Viziers are there is entrance to another den here is a secret entrance to gollums lair he has the one ring (monster infreqeunt) on ultimate he drops 1 ring in about 4 or 5 times

So by now it has become a huge post dont worry you can just check what you want and i like huge posts :P!
FACTIONS
So i have been thinking about the rep farming i made some maps and thought mmmm no i checked around and routes arent really clear or what to do. so i will give some General locations where to farm rep and you try and figure out your own route!
AETHERIALS
Some people say at the wardens i say to many spiders! and other beasties
Some people say conflagaration (giant map and good spawn but i see people dying from the ground poison)
I myself would go to plain of strife before the necropolis why you ask? lots of aetherials some giant obelisks popping some out!
Just kill everyone one the plain 
and if you also want some chtonic exp go into the rift and slaughter them all (try getting bounty for black legion with luth balok)
If you have a fast clear time of the plain you gain about (with some Star enemys) between 500 and 1000 rep (maybe more but i minimalise so you wont be dissapointed)
CRONLEYS
(accept a bount for killing ascended cronleys or a kind of hero in one of mines)
This one is hard to do but also easy this is a restricted enemy kind so it also has good hero and nemesis farms
Go into haneffy mine and kill everyone (especcialy halion the rat and his pet) then use a personal gate to teleport to cronleys hideout
Go outside kill the heros there and go back then go towards cronley avoiding spiral room and the wasps
After killing darius go a little further kill the guys there (sometimes a hero)
you will gain about 300 to 500 rep per time and then complete a bounty
CHOTIANS (dudes with weird names)
This is a easy one.
Complete one game then go to last riftgate walk north and fix the bridge (or walk over if its fixed)
Then go into bastion of chaos and repeat
Rep gain is very varies but it goes fast
UNDEAD
Also a easy one and also very unstable rep gains but its alot at a time (also longer clear times)
Go to arkovian undercity and clear it out whole way (you can accept a bounty for this place for the rovers)
After killing kilrian Do it again
Other method
Steps of torment (difficult)
Longer clear time than arkovian undercity but also more rep gain (and a few boss enemys)
Clear the whole place out (you will need a skeleton key) clear out inventory before going to floor 4 and opeing gate and take enough potions
(there is a merchant on floor 5 who sells potions)
ORDER OF DEATH VIGIL
2 options
Tomb of archon
Longer Clear time but there is a boss enemy and low rep gain (better loot)
Better option Fort Haron
Its a quick clear but low rep gain (it will take awhile)
Not much on these dudes they are strong if you dont have vitaly resists
For the good Faction like Devils crossing etc, play the game and get 50% boost when you can and they be maxed in no time!
