Titan Quest Anniversary Edition

This is more because of the terrible way Bows interact with OA and DA and by interact i mean they completely ignore those two stats. Meaning they can’t miss (except if you have chance to avoid projectiles) and crit.

My Warden has 42% chance to dodge projectiles and it makes the Machae much easier.

I vividly remember some epic and legendary items giving mastery skills in the cd version. Achilles Shield comes to mind because it gives level 8 Shield Bash.

Wait, seriously? In TQ, Bows always crit and can’t miss? That seems… Like something any decent company would have fixed. Like, immediately.

They don’ t miss but can’t crit

That makes far more sense. Way, way more, actually.

You dragged me back into TQ with your chit-chat. :undecided:

<insert mild insult here> :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m back into TQ after a short break. I’m still having trouble finding decent INT gear. I’m about half-way through Act 3 and I’m level 30. Is there any good places to farm INT gear, specifically a nice Staff in Act 3? :undecided: The few caster enemies I have seen have dropped nothing so far.

Shop. You can reroll it just by quitting to the main menu.

EDIT: underlined - most interesting stuff in my opinion.

I honestly think it’s awesome that the game is still getting updated, even after 10 years.

I hope to get better soon so i can play this more

The dedication is nice, on the one hand…

On the other hand, they apparently overlooked this for TEN YEARS? If you haven’t managed to balance your game after ten years, you should probably stop trying, it’s not going to happen at that point.

You can also visit another merchants for 5min and then come back. Works just as well

The most important fix in my eyes is the fix for plague.

You do know that Nordic (now THQNordic) only acquired the IP for TQ 2 years ago, yes?

I did not. Yet eight years isn’t significantly better than ten, in this case. Nor is two, really. It’s taken two years to sort out balance? It can’t have been in that bad a state to begin with, if the game’s so well loved it got an Anniversary Edition.

TQ was developed by people who later founded Crate Ent, former Iron Lore. Iron Lore was under the THQ umbrella, so when THQ eventually collapsed developers of Iron Lore had left, but they couldn’t possibly take the IP with them. I think I had seen a post of medierra on this forum dating back to 2009 or 2010 whence he said they can’t support TQ in any way without being safe from legal incursions. THQ was eventually sold to Nordic Games in 2012, a lot of people hoped Nordic would do something with TQ, but after some initial promise they had been quiet for 3 years or so. Was a big surprise to me they upheld it.

Sadly, I don’t understand a thing about direction they are moving to. Sure, they implemented some fixes and balance changes, but they somewhat broke the game’s balance a few times with that, and it’s still very, very far from the kind of balance that exists in GD. It feels like the actual developing team (not the PR team) is quite new at that. Also by how they introduce a lot of tech stuff it’s very possible their goal is not to improve the TQ but to improve the engine to release something new, levelling up developer team at the same time.

It hasn’t been even a year since THQ Nordic started to update the game. The Anniversary edition was released august last year.

Might be aiming for a TQ 2. Lots of mythology around the world to draw on for it… There’s been a growing Norse/Viking kick for a while now, perhaps they’ll try to cash in on that.

Quite a bit of people are basically begging them about that, so that’s a possibility.

No, it’s taken Nordic two years to get permission to use things like the Bugfix Fanpatch and spectre’s Patch for the Patch and then fix all sorts of other stuff after they bought the rights to the game.

FYI, Iron Lore who developed the game closed in 2008 after the Immortal Throne Expansion came out in 2007. THQ didn’t do anything further with the game so it was some of the fans who set about fixing things. THQ itself went into bankruptcy in 2012. Nordic bought the rights in 2013, but didn’t do anything with TQ immediately. They did develop a mobile phone version of the game though.

Meanwhile Arthur Bruno and Eric Campanella formed Crate Entertainment to continue working on a game called Black Legion.

I assume this is what turned into Grim Dawn, though I’ve never seen it confirmed.

I imagine most of those two to three years was spent on becoming acquainted with the game’s source code and reimplementing multiplayer. And there were updates before the release of the anniversary edition, too (beta updates to IT).

But, yeah. The fanpatch team before me and I did all the work on the game after IL went under until Nordic started working on it. THQ didn’t do anything with their IP (they probably had other worries at that point too).

Was reading this thread and realized that titan quest would have been a much more epic game if medierra was given more freedom…

Now I dont know what to feel if ever a tq 2 is released and made by a new team:rolleyes:
