Titan Quest Anniversary Edition

Am away from a computer that can actually run Titan Quest(one I’m currently using has Chrome OS which doesn’t allow steam). Have been theorycrafting a Ternion and Eruption based fire caster that looks something like this:

Earth
Earth Enchantment: (Rank: 12 of 12)
Brimstone: (Rank: 1 of 8)
Heat Shield: (Rank: 1 of 12)
Stone Form: (Rank: 1 of 12)
Summon Core Dweller: (Rank: 16 of 16)
Stone Skin: (Rank: 1 of 10)
Inner Fire: (Rank: 1 of 8)
Wildfire: (Rank: 1 of 12)
Volativity: (Rank: 12 of 12)
Metamorphosis: (Rank: 8 of 8)
Eruption: (Rank: 12 of 12)

Spirit
Deathchill Aura: (Rank: 6 of 6)
Ternion Attack: (Rank: 12 of 12)
Ravages of Time: (Rank: 8 of 8)
Spirit Ward: (Rank: 1 of 8)
Dark Covenant: (Rank: 1 of 6)
Summon Liche King: (Rank: 16 of 16)
Spirit Bane: (Rank: 1 of 6)
Arcane Lore: (Rank: 6 of 6)
Death Nova: (Rank: 1 of 12)
Unearthly Power: (Rank: 8 of 8)
Wraith Shell: (Rank: 1 of 12)
Circle of Power: (Rank: 1 of 12)
(pasting the link for Titancalc AE doesn’t save my points)

Now I’m planning on going Earth first and putting one point in the skills I want while maxing ring of flame and its tree until I start dying easily, then switching the points to ternion. But besides that I have no idea how I should max my character. How many points should I be putting into my pets and when? Should I max one first, then the other? Should I even get both pets? Should I put more points in the pet skill trees? If so where? How should my skill points be allocated?

Well, you have some wiggle room since by the time you’ve “deducted” the bonus skill points you’ll only be at L55 with what you’ve listed skill-wise.

Still, you have no Necrosis and looks like you’re only going up to L24 in Spirit so you could also look at maxing Necrosis (defiitely worth doing) and maybe maxing the Spirit mastery too so you can put a point into Arcane Blast and also Summon Outsider.

As for how you play it, well it depends on what you want to mostly be. A petmancer? Then look to max pets and let them do their thing for as long as they’re able (pets fail quickly in Acts 3 and 4 Normal in TQIT, not sure if it’s the same for AE). If you want to do damage yourself then I’d say start with Spirit and Ternion/Arcane Lore and Deathchill Aura maxed which should do you well for a long way into the game. You can start adding in Earth skills at L8.

was thinking of a caster

Well, for a caster personally I’d drop the pets, Dark Covenant/Unearthly Power and add in Volcanic Orb as well as having Eruption to throw around. Never used Dark Covenant or Unearthly Power because they’re not skills I fancy playing, but you might like them.

I’d probably try something like this:

http://www.titancalc.com/TitanCalc.asp?mastery=Conjurer&master1=1&master2=2&sa=21&m1=32-12-0-8-0-0-12-0-0-0-0-0-0-8-0-0-0-12-12-0-12-0&m2=16-6-0-12-8-0-8-0-0-0-6-6-8-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0

which is still only up to L53 so you could add things like Stone Form, Stone Skin, Heat Shield and Ring of Fire/Soften Metal if you want to.

Or if you want Death Covenant/Unearthly Power you could try this:

http://www.titancalc.com/TitanCalc.asp?mastery=Conjurer&master1=1&master2=2&sa=21&m1=32-12-0-8-0-0-12-0-0-0-0-0-0-8-0-0-0-12-12-0-12-0&m2=24-6-0-12-8-0-8-0-6-0-6-6-8-0-0-8-0-0-0-0-0-0

which takes you up to L60 - which is the level area I usually finish a straight playthrough of the game in TQIT at. Iirc the AE version may give you a bit more XP per level so you might finish a bit higher - or if you farm a lot.

Dactyls are now considered an hero mob instead of just being a really powerful regular mob.

Liking that they are combining items that fit in theme into sets. The last ones were the Hephaestus items being combined into a set.

I use the Underlord mod for 40 point cap masteries and some new spells and some overhauled masteries.

At the moment I am leveling an Elementalist and boy is that Meteor fun to use.

So anyone knows whatever happened to the old forums? Firefox gives me a warning about a malicious site when I try to go there…

I decided to check back on the anniversary edition yesterday… I love the Grim Dawn style HUD, though I wish the spell icons were at the bottom, too. Did I remember incorrectly though that they added a Stash increase somehow?
I decided to make a Vitality damage melee character on a whim and chose Diviner (Dream+Spirit). I see they changed some of the useless anti-undead skills of Spirit like Circle of Power to add Vitality damage, but I am so far undecided on what Trance to use from Dream… Convalescence so I can balance the hit point costs from Dark Covenant being active, or Trance of Wrath to decrease enemy resistances? And I am still unsure whether to use Phantom Strike or Distortion Wave as a right-mouse button attack.

BB_Shockwave, unfortunately it looks like TitanQuest.net has closed for good this time. It was shut for several weeks back in May last year, but eventually the owners put it back up again. Then there was a phishing attack which is why you get the warning from your browser. The site was still accessible though if your browser let you bypass the warning, but it was up and down, up and down and finally went at the beginning of September. E-mails to the owners elicit no response.

So efko has started a new dedicated TQ forum here:

http://titanquestfans.byethost11.com/smf/index.php?action=forum

Currently working on getting the best layout to cover both TQIT and TQAE versions of the game, but we’ll get there and then start rebuilding as much of the old forum as we can with guides, mods, tools, etc.

So hop over and join us if you want. If you have trouble registering post this in the thread linked below and efko will see it and sort it out. Currently having teething problems with e-mail notifications.

http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38608

You can also read of the struggles we’ve had to keep TQ.net going there.

grinninglich has also started a forum section over on kirmiziperfect.com, but that’s more a general forum to cover all the games he has on his website.

https://forums.kirmiziperfect.com/index.php

Thanks a lot for the info, did not know the old forums were totally down, that is unfortunate… luckily I saved most of the modding info I needed ages ago. Man, hard to believe the game is 10 years old… I have been working at my current job as long as the game has been out - and my first major spending was to get a PC that could run TQ and HOMMV (hint - One of these games I still play even today, the other, I never finished even)

is there a stash manager for TQ AE? (Without ruining achievements)

Yeah, unfortunately BB_Shockwave. I agree with you, I have a lot of games that I’ve bought and tried (some not even tried) but it’s TQIT/AE that I still play and have done for almost 10 years now.

You can also check kirmiziperfect.com for mods and modding info for the game since grinninglich collected a lot of it before the forum went down.

Yes, there’s TQVault which gives you infinite out of game storage - don’t use while playing otherwise you’ll screw your characters up. You can use it just for storage or you can copy/duplicate items, change bonuses on relics/charms if you want to. There’s also an XL version with bigger vault space. It starts with a main Vault, but if you scroll up from that you’ll find Maintain Vault Files and there you can make, copy, rename or delete a Vault. To make a new one just choose whatever name you want. I must have around a 100 or so Vaults by now. Kirmiziperfect.com has these Vault programmes for download though you may need to register on the site to do so.

If you like collecting and keeping track of what you’ve got and are missing then also look at downloading the TQAE version of TQCollector. It has most of the new info, though some stuff is missing unfortunately. Again only for out of game use, but it’s quite handy to quickly check what’s in your collection. If you mouse over an item it’ll also tell you where it can be found if you haven’t got one yet and if it’s in your collection it’ll tell you where it’s stored in TQVault.

Sorry for barging in this thread with an oddball question like this, but does anyone know if there are any plans to update Soulvizier mod for TQAE compatibility?

I don’t think so, at least not by the original creator.

Did I read correctly that TQ AE has faster lvling? Because one of the reasons the game wasn’t as fun for me was how slow the lvling felt for example compared to Grim Dawn.

Epic and Legendary had an exp boost and there’s an option to increase the game speed. It’s still much slower than Grim Dawn’s leveling.

Maybe, but not by much I’d say. The thing that made a difference for me is the ‘game speed’ setting in the options, which make everything in the game faster (move, attack, projectiles cooldowns - everything) and I’d say harder as well, since control response didn’t really improve.

Tnx for the reply guys. Will give the game another go sometimes. But right now it’s all Grim Dawn for me

I still play this from time to time to achieve my personal goal of finishing the game with all possible class combinations on HC xmax.
I prefer the grind there too, in comparison to GD. GD level progression feels “for free” in comparison to older ARPGs… call me old-school

I’m pretty sad to hear that tq.net forums has closed down recently, that site pretty much started my forum reading & theory-building hobby. So many helpful people imparting knowledge to those willing to learn it.

gasconron, yes it is a shame it’s gone, but it will rise again in another forum which you’ll find here:

http://titanquestfans.byethost11.com/smf/index.php

You’ll be able to continue your Xmax Hardcore Challenge quest of completing it with every class of the game. Defboy99 will set it up I hope (if he gets around to signing up!) or if he doesn’t I will. The Xmax, Naked, Yellows Only and Legion of Champions Hardcore Challenges will all be rebuilt as soon as we get the layout of the new forum set up.

It’s a non-factor… By most standards even with modded games that’s designed to ramp up your levelling progression you can get to 65-67 with half hearted effort, and on that level there is mostly nothing in the game content that should stop you from finishing/completing it.

Level capping is mostly done for self-satisfaction as a sign of dedication to a certain class or plain masochism. I only maxed 1 toon, and that was the toon I used to kill 1 million monsters with for the achievement before they lowered the requirement due to excessive whining.

yeye!!! good to hear man. I’m still “playing” it side by side with GD. But for now I’m just prepping and overlevelling aura toons AFK at Normal Glyphs in Egypt, while I play other games… It’s a good way of maximizing my limited playtime. I run runs usually to blow off steam, like when I lose an HC toon here (which is common)
