Titan Quest Anniversary new DLC

Just a heads up but an expasion for Titanquest Anniversary is available to purchase and on youtube gameplay videos.

It has a new mastery and Act.

It has a Norse theme and new class of Runes or Runemaster or such so now 10 classes!

Is it just me or does the color palette on the new Act look like hot garbage??

*awaits reviews from some of the old titanquest.net crew before buying…

I haven’t looked at much video yet. Also awaiting information and reviews.

It came out of nowhere

I am holding off for now, today the negative reviews are piling up on steam and they all share one common issue with the DLC: crashing.

Common thing when another dev team takes over that does not know the code as well as the original devs. So hopefully they will get to it and make it more stable, the content reviews are so far positive and it would be a shame.
Maybe they should ask Crate for a consulting job!

A bit late to the party claudius.

News broke here just as the dev stream was going to start on Friday.

I don’t know about crashing and I’m impartial about the TQ expac but it looks like it currently has a 90% positive rating to me thus far. I did read one of the negative reviews. Get a load of this /eye-roll action time

I have to say, it must be seriously polished.
It is not a coincidence that the base game is called “Titan Quest” and based mainly on a Greek mythology. Now we have to see “Ragnarök”-title and hear Scandinavian music in the main menu. Looks like developers played Skyrim too much.
One of the key features of the Titan Quest was no men among the enemies. There were only mythical monsters. We have to kill humans in this new add-on! How cruel and against the spirit of the base game it is! Those men don’t even have a monster type under their names!
Poor design of a new armour and its icons in an inventory.
The price is too high. Seriously.
The main disappointment: constant crashes. It’s so frustrating that I can’t really play.

No, there are also many positive things in this DLC. I am still kind of happy that it is released and I won’t make a refund. But developers should correct their mistakes as fast as possible.

I can only sit here and lawl away at the way people’s brains work. So, anyone else here really and truly buy that garbage? That not killing humans in the game is actually a “key” feature of TQ? And Oh! The horror! Scandinavian music in the menu! And the assault on me poor eyes at having to view the barbarous lettering of Ragnarök! Even the Romans are still rolling and quaking in their ancient graves at the prospect of barbarian waves from the north! Here, let me pacify you to the tune of the world’s smallest violin. Sorry, I’m just trying to stop my rofl-truck here. Technical difficulties and all

Crashes have been fixed as of yesterday from what I heard.

Xpack does crash on few occasions for me as well.

The color pallette when it comes to the 2d inventory art is lacking. in fact the whole 2d art feels…out of place. When you equip the gear it all looks fine though.

The map design seems to be in line with the base game. Although the routing of (quest) triggers seems off at times. Not all triggers respond immediately either. Ran into a gate several times, back through town, back to gate until I could finally proceed. There are little small “bugs” like this all over the place I’ve noticed.

When it comes to quests. There are some that require you to decide whether to turn it in with NPC A or B. An attempt at making meaningful choices I guess. But I never played TQ for its story and quests. You kill, you level, and you turn in all quests once in a while if you go back to town. So these new style quests feel a bit out of place. Have only encountered a handful so it isn’t that annoying though.

Lots of new items…which feel unbalanced and in fair occasions even OP. I found a new shield for my assassin with so many resist and all 25-30% which is just too much for a normal difficulty item. There are tons of new items and MI’s though which is fun too collect as always.

Seems old bosses have become tougher and with some new attacks in some cases. New bosses seem ok and fun, but so far none really stand out. Only half way through the Ragnarok content though.

Voice Overs of triton and humans are just weird and derpy…extremely so. The Tritons are derps and the humanoids made sounds of… constipation followed by an orgasm?? It is just really bad in those few cases. The other opponents are just fine it seems.

Overall I’d say its a decent enough xpack for a mere 15 euro. Perhaps 10 euro would be more appropriate. All and all…so far…i’m not convinced it is a must have addition to TQ:AE

I finished Ragnarok with 0 crashes, and I started on release day. The new areas get to be really cool after about halfway through the content, and the final boss fight was unique. Haven’t found any new legendary items yet though.

Sorry about not closing immediately, but at first I thought TQ is basically a religion here and the more threads the better. But just now, I found two threads on the same topic to be non sensical.

I apologize to the OP and hope any discussions here can continue in the thread here
