Hey guys,
Since TQ.Net is down (sigh…:() I am inclined to ask such questions here.
I have recently upgraded my PC and have swapped all things TQ over to my new ssd. Following this, I’ve set up the paths for the various directories so that the AM, Editor and Game knows where to look for everything.
But it seems I have set the paths incorrectly…I’m having problems with new content that I have created, both within the AM and the Editor not showing up in game once I have built it.
Here’s the current paths;
Art Manager
- Working Directory: C:\Users\Name\Documents\My Games\Titan Quest - Immortal Throne\Working
-Build Directory: C:\Users\Name\Documents\My Games\Titan Quest - Immortal Throne\custommaps
-Tools Directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\THQ\Titan Quest Immortal Throne
-Additional Browse Directories: C:\Program Files (x86)\THQ\Titan Quest;C:\Users\Name\Documents\My Games\Titan Quest - Immortal Throne\Working\CustomMaps\Database
I’ve copied my custommaps folder with my mod into the game directory, and of course the custommaps folder is in the My Documents directory (as yo can see above ;))
Each time I create something in AM I make sure to copy my mod into the game directory so that the new stuff shows up in the Editor. Then open up Editor, place new item or creature etc, save and close.
For new world content in the Editor I rebuild everything, save, then open up AM and build all changes here. << This is the same process I used to do which worked fine before changing to new ssd. So I’m convinced that it’s not showing up in-game because I have set the build paths incorrectly…
So what to do/change? lol Thoughts? :undecided:

Not at my gaming machine currently, so I can’t say for sure, but those paths look fine to me…
Why do you copy the finished mod into the game directory, though? It’s just fine where it ends up after the build process (\My Documents\My Games\TQIT\custommaps). Or is my memory that rusty by now…
Hey Malgardian
Hmm yeah I thought they were all set up correctly too… but idk, why else wouldn’t things be showing up in game after having built it all according to those paths? frustration - I’ll have another look and shuffle some things around.
If anyone could post there current build paths then I can compare them
I read ages ago that this is what needs to be done in order for the changes you’ve made to show up in the editor. Sounds weird but yeah that’s what I had to do before and it worked, was always a hassle tho.
Ah, forgot to check my settings yesterday. I’ll post them later!
Well, my modding setup apparently doesn’t exist anymore, since I switched to the Steam version for the Nordic patch, but the Steam Artmanager says:
Working: C:\Users<username>\Documents\My Games\Titan Quest - Immortal Throne\Working
Build: C:\Users<username>\Documents\My Games\Titan Quest - Immortal Throne
Tools: C:\Program Files (x86)\THQ\Titan Quest Immortal Throne
Other: C:\Program Files (x86)\THQ\Titan Quest\
Maybe it’s getting hung up on your spelling of “custommaps”. Try “CustomMaps” maybe?
…This would all be so easy to look up if ientry hadn’t effing killed the TQ forum :furious:
My folder setups. I notice in Build and Others I do not have any reference to custommaps. Maybe try replacing those?
working C:\Users
ame\Documents\My Games\Titan Quest - Immortal Throne\Working
build C:\Users
ame\Documents\My Games\Titan Quest - Immortal Throne
tools C:\Program Files (x86)\THQ\Titan Quest Immortal Throne
other C:\Program Files (x86)\THQ\Titan Quest;C:\Users
ame\Documents\My Games\Titan Quest - Immortal Throne\Working
Hey guys,
I’ve returned… with good news! After much pondering and comparing my directory locations etc (Malguardian and Mountainblade thanks for sharing yours as a reference) I changed the build path so it just went to the Immortal Throne folder (my documents). Indeed, as you suggested Mountainblade, this was the issue it seems
In any case, all new changes/additions now show in-game
very happy!
To show my appreciation for helping me out, here’s a few teaser screenshot’s from my upcoming mod: Project H. Enjoy.
Your mod is looking very nice! Is it mainly a new map or new map and new skills? And good that it works now.
Thanks man, yeah it’s an all new original map, with main quest story-line and side quests. In addition there are new items, significantly more challenging hero monsters and bosses. It has been a labor of love for some time now… still quite a bit to do but am nearing the end
I will be releasing a website for the mod soon which will have all the details about it in one place
Can’t wait to finish it and share it with you guys!
Good to hear. You can also set up a moddb page if you don’t want to host a completely new homepage.
