Can’t help but think they nerfed drops in Legendary Secret passage. Not only did they add the annoying extra cage which gimic works half the time, instead just adds more time to farming SP. I have yet to find anything good except one appolos will (yet I’m a conqueror so not usefull). Been keeping a tally and while still on the low count of 53 runs I can’t seem to feel its been nerfed to many no purple runs. I have gone from level 63 to 64.5 doing Hydra and SP, prior to anniversary edition I equpied my conqueror with, visor of the shadowlord, scepter of the shadow king, bracers of the argonauts, greaves of argonauts, pendant of immortal rage, chiron loops. Full beast set up minus never being able to find the shield Aionous. Granted I farmed SP till level 71 back in the day just feels drops are crap now.
Update 116 runs of SP still junk purples! Got a chion loop ring from hydra and sapros from cyclops outside of megara. All the other equipment mentioned in op I found in secret passage back in the day what gives…more archmage greaves!!!
Not run the Secret Passage myself yet as my Conjurer isn’t far enough along in the AE game. But I didn’t think much of the drops in the SP in the original game. What difficulty are you playing? Mostly I remember getting all the Easter Egg set stuff as the main drops.
I played both the original version and the AE version and they both felt the same in terms of drops. They felt terrible, this game has probably some of the worst legendary drop rate i’ve seen in a game.
Over 200 hours of playtime just to get the Achilles armor.
Thats true, and thats the reason that after a couple hundreds hours I download the SQ program that let you edit the drop rates and group potions and stuff. I believe I set chests to x4 drops and monsters to x3 drops
I have around that playtime and i got three Ultos chest armor, three Ultos amulet, maybe four ultos shoulders and the blueprint of the Ultos Hood, all dropped myself. Have you even bothered to farm Ultimate?
All of this would never happened in Titan Quest, just for the mere fact heroes don’t drop anything (not even a loot orb) and there’s no one shot chests.
I think i killed each Mythical boss (Hydra, Manticore, Dragon Liche and Talos) maybe 100 times each and i got only one Achilles armor out of that. And this was all farmed in Legendary. Haven’t seen any piece of the Immortal Throne sets like the Poseidon and Fiery Legion sets and i also farmed the hell out of the Secret Passage.
It’s not just some mod. It’s an unofficial complete expansion for the game, which will continue the storyline directly from the dialogue with Persefona.
It adds a shitton of content, including a gigantic island with secrets to explore. They did all the stuff, like voice-acting, new bosses, sets, animations, etc.
When I played the orginal I got nearly all items from SP visor of the shadow lord 2, scepter of the shadoe king2, pendant of imortal rage*2, armor of achilles, bracers and greaves of agranauts (which I have now found after 146 runs)
I’ve gone from level 63-66 doing SP and don’t recall if drops are also tied to character level as I was a level 71 in old version.
Yeah drops in Grim Dawn are just as crap, most purple I find are from first play through ine shot chest in ultimate. Or piggy backing seriously OP players in crucible that carry gladiator 130-150. Over 1100 hours no Ulzuins chest, black gem of dreeg, crystalliums. It’s like grinding hades and SP for the Aionios shield. Which I’ve never seen.
That’s the RNG god for you. I’ve yet to see a pair of Batrachros Greaves in 6 years of playing and still missing Desert’s Kiss and Hu Hai’s Pride spears from Normal difficulty.
Yeah, I know. They still update their VK group though, so it indicates they’re still working on it. Also, it’s a fan thing, so it would obviously take more time than pro stuff.
Yeah they were never that great to begin with. On normal difficulty you would only ever see the easter egg items, past that there was a small selection of uniques that would ever drop. The real loot was always from the actual boss fights, like Hades or the Hydra.
Farming update- now 360 legendary secret passage run still no visor of the shadow lord or scepter of shadow king. Was caught off gaurd around run 300 whrn the shield Aionios dropped then two runs later pendant of immortal rage dropped doubling my dps!! Only a matter of time till I get the helm and weapon, would farm Hades but his blood attack one shots me badly and his drops never seem worth it.
