I updated my database a few days ago and now it seems that the crafting menu no longer works with daggers, scepters and caster offhands. Faction items and uniques seem to behave normally, but normal items/MIs/craftable greens do not display base stats and do not give a list of allowed affixes unless the “no restrictions” option is chosen in the config tab.
I just updated to the most recent version, then updated the database again, got no error messages but this behavior still persists.
No idea what is going on there. The code for all items is the same, so there is no reason I can think of that would make some item types or rarities behave differently from all others.
This would leave the data, however unlikely that is. Please verify the game files and import again. I doubt it fixes anything, but I cannot really think of anything else that would be causing this.
Nevermind, when updating to the latest version my desktop shortcut was still pointing to the older version. I reinstalled cleanly and the issue seems to have gone.
I got a couple error messages when importing the database again about missing item tags, but things work fine now.
You ran out of heap space. If you use a 64bit OS, make sure to also use the 64bit JVM. If you are on 32bit, start the tool via the .bat file, that increases the heap space.
Question about mod (Grimarillion) and edit characters - what do I need to do, beside from selection the mod and importing it’s DB, to be able to edit character(s) created with this mod?
I see the toon created in \save\user\ folder, but I do not see it in GD Stash character editor.
The char editor should always show you all chars in save/main and save/user dirs (ie whether you imported the mod or not). Which dir the char is from is part of its description in the drop-down list.
It will not get everything right unless you imported the mod and have it active (on the Config page), eg mastery names or mod-specific items.
If you are not seeing the char at all, I assume the tool is set up to use a different dir, ie the local saves while you use cloud saves.
I do not recommend editing cloud saves, see the documentation. At the very least I would not have GD running while doing so. This is a separate issue however, you should always see all chars and stashes, regardless of whether you use local or cloud saves.
I have imported the mod, it’s active in the config page and the GD Stash is using the cloud saves folder location (x:\Steam\userdata\xxxxxxxx\219990\remote\save).
In that location I see:
main folder (all toons appear in GD Stash)
user folder (no toons appear in GD Stash)
grimarillion folder (containing transfer.gsh and transfer.gst)
transfer.gsh and transfer.gst
Now the next one will sound a bit off - after I have created softcore / hardcore char and restarted GD Stash, I can see the mod toons
Most probably I have overlooked something :o
I’m aware of the implications using cloud saves and I only use GD Stash when the game is not running.
were the missing chars ones that you created after starting the tool ?
Upon starting the tool, it searches for all chars and includes them in its list. If you create a char afterwards, the tool does not know of it.
By pressing the refresh button, it will reload the current char (so any changes you did not save are lost… so save first) and also search for chars again, thereby adding any chars created in the meantime
