[Tool] GD Stash

caster dagger is definitely not a quest item

Quest items also have seeds, they just do not matter to the game…

During the beta the game for some time had an issue that resulted in items not having seeds about 50% of the time. I assume your items are that old…

Whether you keep always one copy of an item or not is something that you specify on the Config page (and by the button you press to store items in the tool).
If you use Copy, the items remains in the stash / database while a copy is placed in the database / stash. If you use move, it is removed in one location and placed in the other.

fine, my point was the Java install takes care of both, so with a proper install the .bat would find the java.exe and double-clicking the jar would also work. But I guess you are right, you can screw up one without screwing up the other

The .bat file only works if Java is installed in the same loaction as specified in the .bat file. If they have a different version of Java, or did a custom install, then the .bat file wouldn’t work.

They’d need to modify the .bat file, but IIRC, you mention this in the install docs?

the .bat file does not specify a dir, it relies on java.exe being in the path, which it should be after a Java install.

They’d need to modify the .bat file, but IIRC, you mention this in the install docs?

that should no longer be in the docs, but yes, at one point that was accurate.

Oracle has changed that, Java is no longer put in the system’s path when it is installed. You now have to manually modify your PATH environment variable to include it. Or they can modify the bat file to explicitly set the path to the Java executable. Of course, they have to modify it again when they install a newer version of Java.

Sheesh, that makes no sense, thanks for letting me know

Hello everyone,

I have a problem to import ma database for the first time with GD Stash,

Can you help me ?

Thank you ^^

Are you running a 64-bit version of Java?
Are you executing the .bat file located in the GDStash directory to launch the application?

Ha, taking over the support here I see

You definitely are not on 64bit Java, if you have a 64bit OS, make sure to use that. Otherwise run the .bat, as ibugsy said.

I run the .bat and that’s work, thanks for your answers ^^

I am having an issue. Primarily with save game directory. As far as I know I went with defaults upon set up and indeed can see the exact path’ing

C:\Users\me\Documents\My Games\Grim Dawn\save

BUT it (GDS) tells me error wrong directory.

I will delve into the 200+ pages to see if there is a solution but any and all help would be appriciated

Try to start a session with all characters you have in your save folder at least once.
This should update them to the v1.0.1.0 standards and thus terminate the error.

still getting wrong directory. Is there a step I missed possibly? (like the only saved character in that folder is one I created for lan…shouldn’t the rest fir campaign be in there as well?)

edit ok I think I got it…been cloud saving which is a different directory (finally found the doc lol)… C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata<folder of numbers>\219990\remote\save

it’s probably easier to delve in the documentation in the docs dir

The tool checks for the existence of a stash file (transfer.gst/.gsh). You got the right dir (for local saves), so if that file does not yet exist, talk to the smuggler in Devil’s Crossing to create it and try again

It’s really usefull ultility tool. Thank for great stuff, hope you can keep it up

i cant edit my attributes!
I’m changing but it wont apply to the game!
any help is appreciated!

you are saving the changes ?

Are you not playing the char at the time ?

Are you using cloud save ?

The first two are essential, the last one frequently is problematic too. If you use cloud save, your best bet is to close the game, wait a few secs, edit the char, wait a few secs, start GD again.

If you use local saves it should be one of the first two… never had any problems with local saves

Hi
I’m getting several errors, when trying to import the database:

(can’t add links/images to my post, since i havent posted enough)

(jiaco - I am unable to get the image to show up, but here is a link)

I can’t find any similar errors in the other replies to this thread

Cheers

this is for vanilla GD, not some mod ? Verify your game files then, there is definitely something wrong…

Are these errors or warnings ?

It is vanilla GD and they are errors.

The Verification didnt show anything, but a reinstall on a different hard-drive did the trick!
