[Tool] GD Stash

Probably a stupid question but…how do i update gdstash?

So i just started playing the game after the latest game update. And i also updated GDStash to the latest version, v1.1.2.

And now i just can’t transfer any item. Neither character transfer or stash transfer works. I copy the items from GDStash, but they don’t appear in-game.
I updated GDStash and overwrote the files. Then i imported the database.
GDStash was able to see the items on my character and stash from the game, and copy them to db.
Cloud saving is off in both Steam and Grim Dawn. I thought that maybe when the game was updated, that it had somehow turned on cloud save. But when I check my character folder in the C:\User directory, I can see that it is the latest. Is there something I have missed from the latest posts in here?

EDIT: Solved! It turned out my Comodo Firewall was blocking the program. I unblocked it, and added it to exceptions. Now it is working again. Should have noticed something was off with the green edges around the program window, showing it was running virtually. Oh well, now I just have to try and remember what kind of items i had…

download new version, unzip in the dir you unzipped the old version in (make sure zip overerites the existing files) or in a new dir, use the new version…

On another note. As I was trying to find the items I copied the first time, I noticed there wasn’t any place to search for seed number. Any chance this could be added? Perhaps together with search for item name?

search for seed number is positively odd, the game does not show it, so you would not even know it without this tool. Even with it, I would never memorize it, seems a strange search criteria to me… you already can search by item name, in case this was a request rather than a suggestion where to add the search by seed

Thanks for this great tool mamba!

I’ve had this same issue a few times but every time I update to a new version of this program I replace the old files with the new files and then when I attempt to access the program it doesn’t open. I double click the executable and nothing happens even if I wait a minute and then re-try it. Not sure how I fix that?

Mamba: I think seed criteria makes sense since your program doesn’t display the actual stats of stored items but if you know the seed number you can find the exact version of the item you want.

You are using the .exe or the .jar ? The .exe is an installer, so the ‘unzip, done’ part would not apply then… it would be ‘install and done’

Maybe uninstall the old version first if you have problems, I have no suggestions otherwise, unfortunately

yeah, but no one knows the seeds of their items

Can we modify the level of devotion skills with GD Stash?

yes, you can

A big thank you to the creators of this little-big mod. It will satisfy my urges for number crunching during times of ‘cool concept’ build ideas

I just installed the latest version and configured as indicated. As directed, I saved the settings and imported the database. It showed a database imported with green check but also showed warnings that tag tagTorsoA001 and tagEnchantA01 not found in tags_item.txt ?

In my save directories there are current saved characters and some I played in 2016. Not sure if this is causing a problem but when I tried to do a mass import no items appear, I see a blue spinning circle and that’s it. After 15-20 minutes I killed the tool, recycled the pc and tried again - but same result - spinning blue circle, no items displayed, cancelled after 15 minutes…

How would I debug and determine the cause of this problem as I don’t see a log file directory ?

Thanks in advance

that is fine, ignore it

did you set the correct dir on the Mass Import page ? I assume you did not actually change it to the save dir

Oops, Actually I did. However I can’t locate the directory suggested in the doc you provide. That is there is no C:/users/username/Documents/GDStash/Items directory on my PC. I’m assuming that this was created during the Settings/Configuration stage ? Is there somewhere else it would go to ?

I found a directory C:/users/username/GDStash that was created, but there is no subdirectory named items - just directory named db.

Thanks

that is not a recommended dir, it just is one I used… it will not exist on your PC.

Just specify your GD save dir here. Unless you used multiple tranfer files to store additional items, no other dir really makes sense

Okay I reset it back to the save directory -
as I had it set the first time: C:/users/username/Documents/MyGames/GrimDawn/save

I again get the same result - spinning blue circle and no output. When I look into the save directory I do see that there are multiple transfer files residing there. I see a transfer.gst, a transfer.gst.bak and the some transfer files which are of format transfer.t0n where n represents a numeric integer. Apologies have not played since last year so a bit rusty on the setup. Is the presence of the transfer.t0n files the issue ? Do I need to remove them ? Do I need to run the import once for each file , where each file is changed from transfer.t0n to transfer.gst ?

Really appreciate all your assistance… Thanks

No, those files will simply be skipped. Well if you are sure you specified the right dir on the mass import page, all you can do is wait - or ignore that page and use the transfer pages. That is not much slower unless you have a ton of chstd…

The Mass Import page will list all items from all stash files and chars, you can then decide which items to store in GD Stash.

C:/users/username/Documents/MyGames/GrimDawn/save which is the directory the set import directory points to is the directory path where the transfer.gst and formulas.gst files exist and under the main subdirectory the character directories reside so my assumption is that this is the correct directory (yes/no ?).

I appreciate your help very much but something seems amiss. The transfer.gst file is only 31Kb in size so for it to run for over 15 minutes would seem questionable. Is there anything else I can check ?

Again, thanks for all your help

Hi everyone!

I’m using the 1.0.1 version of the game (steam). When i add items to my char’s stash, my char disappear and i have to create it again.

Can you, guys, help me?

it is the right dir, it also reads the chars but I agree, 15 min is too long. can you see your stash on the transfer page ?
