[Tool] GD Stash

Of course!

Read the documentation, part FAQ - folder doc where you install the tool …

Yes, I read them all. But when I choose folder:
C:\Users\Admin-PC\Documents\My Games\Grim Dawn\save

Nothing happen, GD Stash still posting massage about “Wrong directory”
Java version x64, folder with saves not empty, it’s have some saves.
Could be problem with Windows 10?

Do you have character save files in that location?

The tool works fine on Windows 10. I use it and I have Windows 10.

Edit: You are trying to set the save folder for GD stash to save it’s data? Or to point GD Stash to where your character save files are located?

I trying to set “Grim Dawn save game directory”, press on this button then set folder where I have character, and the programm post massage about “Wrong directory”

So it sounds like you don’t have any character save files in the directory you are trying to set.

Are you using Cloud Saves? Check the Grim Dawn game Options on the General tab and see if the Cloud Saving is checked. If so, then your save files are located elsewhere, but mamba, the tool developer, does not recommend you using the tool with cloud saves.

I turn off Cloud saves, and trying to make a new char, but same problem, I see folder with this char in “C:\Users\Admin-PC\Documents\My Games\Grim Dawn\save\main” but when I try to choose folder “C:\Users\Admin-PC\Documents\My Games\Grim Dawn\save” GD Stash post same error… I don’t know what to do, I trying to make this with cloud save but same… I dont know maybe it’s bug, but when I choose game folder it’s ok.

I try start programm from gdstash.bat, but… same error

Do you currently have a character in Grim Dawn, and have you played that character so that you can gain entrance to the Burrwitch Prison and talk to the stash NPC? The stash NPC is the person who gives access to your stash.

As far as I know, GD Stash can’t be used to create a new character. It can be used to modify existing characters. Your existing characters had to have interacted with the stash NPC in the prison to create the initial stash file.

do you have a transfer.gst/gsh file there ? If not, talk to the smuggler in DC to create it. It it is still the wrong dir it actually is the wrong dir, ie you use cloud saving

Sure?!

No! Run fine by me on Win x64…

Here the part from the FAQ:

GD Stash says the GD Save Dir is wrong, but I am sure it is the correct one. What can I do ?

The tool checks for the existence of a transfer.gst or transfer.gsh file (SC or HC stash). If neither exists, the dir is not accepted. To create one, talk to the smuggler in Devil’s Crossing.

Everything seems to be working, but when I go to stash transfer, none of the items in my stash show up.

Sounds like you either use the wrong save dir or a different stash (SC/HC x vanilla/mod). In the latter case, select the correct one from the drop-down list above the stash

@mamba sir
i understand you can unlock difficulty and portals with this but is there a guide or you may know so i can just make a new character and beat the last boss?
im aware i cant seem to enter and fight the last boss its being blocked by a seal of cthlon or something is there a way to skip all acts and just go to last boss?
or a guide

Why? What fun is that?

oh i just want to start on ultimate and start grinding

is there a guide you know for each act? just mainly for speed runs

If you’re new to the game and start Ultimate all you’ll do is die a lot. You won’t have your Devotion skills maxed or nearly so, won’t have any Revered rep with any factions so no Nemesis farming, no quests done so lacking XP and some bonus skill/attribute points.

unlocking difficulties and portals should be self explanatory, just look at the Char Editor screen. To enter you will have to do the quest (and maybe another to trigger that and so forth). This is stored in different files the tool does not use (and I know nothing about).

The easiest way to solve this is to copy the world (any difficulty) to thar char and difficulty, That gives you quest progress etc.

Is there supposed to be an option to select vanilla?
Also my Install and save are on different drives. My Install is on my SSD, and my save is on my normal HDD. Could this cause a problem?

I’m using the cloud save folder by the way, and there is a transfer.gst and transfer.bst in there. I triple checked everything and they’re correct.

No, you specify two different dirs anyway, the drive makes no difference

There is an option to select vanilla but it defaults to that the first time you use it anyway

then it would work, so there must be an error somewhere…

Post screenshots of the save dir in the Config page and the actual save dir in Explorer (including the transfer.gst in it). Maybe that way we find what the hickup is

Did not display the skill recharge stat, added code for it now. Everything else is already displayed.

As to the +1 to Max Level, that is in the data, turns out GD does not show that…
