That’s both the Config page of GD Stash and the location of the saves in my windows explorer.
Ok, clearly the correct directory. If the items do not show up, blame it on cloud save. If you used local saves this definitely would have worked.
The file got written successfully, but ‘thanks’ to cloud save it is getting ignored in favor of the cloud data (not always, but often), see the FAQ.
Basically this should work rather reliably if you are not running GD while making changes to the stash. If you are in game at the same time, it is a matter of dumb luck…
For local saves it always works, 100% of the time
There is a folder in my documents that exists but it basically is empty. Should I delete it, to be safe?
Can’t hurt to delete it (I assume you are talking about My Game\Grim Dawn\save)
The strange thing is, the game finds my characters just fine and loads them perfectly.
That’s why I’m really confused right now.
Is it possible I should Import Database again? I got an error last time.

what error and generally speaking, yes if you had an error you need to import again.
You did have a successful import though as you were editing your stash, so not sure what changes you made since that cause this new set of issues. You also mention nothing as if you did not make any when this clearly cannot be the case… that is just adding confusion
I thought you said the changes you made in the tool did not show up in game. Now you show me it does not find the stash which would also mean you could not make any changes to it…
That cannot be the original case as you already had transfger.t## files which are stash backups the tool creates while saving…
Clearly you made a change that resulted in this outcome as that is not where we started. What is that change ? Using local saves ? In that case you obviously also need to change the save dir in the tool

1- Where is the main file of the stash with my saved items located in case i want to make a backup and format c drive?
2- Is there any way to split stacks either in the stash column or character inventory column?

Since you’re using GDStash, click on the Configuration tab. The save directory shows your save files location.
For GDStash you can export your saves to a specified location, or look in My Documents/GDStash (IIRC).
AFAIK the tool doesn’t split stacks. In the game you can CTL+click a stack to split it.

the data is in C:\users<username>\GDStash this includes 100+ MB of GD data though. If you want your items only, export them to a file on the Im/Export page and make a backup of that

having same error even i edit the .bat with right path
hm, increase the heap size in it then, the numbers in it (1152 I believe, to eg 1280).
I am surprised this would ever be needed though, when I last checked the RAM use of the import it stayed well below 1GB when I starved it by reducing the heap size via the bat, and it still was ok.
Given we all have the same data to import, this should be universally true.

Hey, not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet, but you’re missing a Devotion Shrine in Act 5, The Undergrowth shrine. According to a guide on Steam, it’s available on all three difficulties. So far I’ve only gotten it on Normal.
Well, I did not do anything about that for a reason. Technically that is the Old Grove shrine and I expected it to move to its final location before the expansion releases, but that clearly did not happen and Old Grove will be released later (whether the shrine then moves there I do not know).
So I probably should revisit that decision

Hello, New to GD forum.
I installed GD stash today (it’s not the first time I try this tool, I used it couple years i think and it was working fine). I followed your main post for the config. I copied all my items into DB then emptied some of my stash. I tried to transfer back some items and it doesnt work at all. I rebooted my game and GD stash tool, exited to main menu to see if something happened between trasnfers. Nothing worked and on top of that GD stash somehow deleted my current lvl 70 char in HC elite and replaced it with a lvl 1 girl I never created!
When i saw that I quickely removed the cloud save option on steam and closed the game. I would like to know how can I get back my char and my stash before uninstalling GD stash (or how make this tool work properly), But mostly I want my char back and my items.

Edit 2: I never touched the character editor part, I just wanted beter way to manage my items.
