[Tool] GD Stash

So for anyone like me who is clueless about Java and getting heap size errors with x64 virtual machine and large mods (I merged wanez source with a couple of other smaller mods 1.8gb) you can increase the amount of memory used by simply changing the Xms and Xmx entires in the bat.

I have 32g ram, so I put them both to 3g, worked like a charm. Although you shouldn’t use all of your RAM for that, apparently, it can crash your pc.

Is this correct? Have Grim Dawn installed on a 2nd storage drive.

Also what is this Java virtual machine something you say you need for using this program? I downloaded from;

Version 1.2.4b Windows 32 bit executable from ModDB

I mean, it all seems to work fine, just making sure. Needed the program for a quest item.

looks good to me, if the tool accepts it, it should be the right dir (it checks for certain files to verify)

As you use cloud save, make sure to read the FAQ regarding it, basically, only change save files when GD is not running, otherwise they can get corrupted (the tool always saves them correctly, but whatever happens after that point with cloud save seems unreliable, I guess whatever it is, is not expecting them to change outside the game)
With local saves you never have any issues, so I recommend those.

since you downloaded the executable, you can ignore that part. If you had downloaded the other version you would have needed a Java VM installed

Thanks man. Will be careful with the program then  Is there a way to back-up steam cloud save files?

Yes, see here: How to - Move your saves from Steam cloud to Grim Dawn’s default location.

Is it possible to add a duplicate item search? Would make life much easier considering I usually salvage duplicates for scrap.

Hi,

i can’t find some items in the database. If i search for Bullwark of Octavius or else, it cant find this item. what am i missing?

the fact that it is spelled with one L only ?

is there an updated version of the stash that includes the expansion /necromancer items?

Latest version already does.

the tool never includes any items, you import them from GD on the Config page. Make sure you have a recent version (pre-AoM versions do not know about AoM, so won’t import its data) and import the GD data again to update the items.

In general, you should import after each new GD version so the tool reflects the changes / new items.

Here you said that GD Stash can show hero kills excluding bosses, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Am I missing something?

it should be shown on the char tab

Well BALLS something went very, very wrong and cant seem to get my saves back, damn cloud saving just not wanting to go away and die. At times everything works fine, and then they dont.
So what to do to get my saves back from the locals since the game ignores them totally even when cloudsaving turned off though the damn game turns it on every goddamn time.
Does deleting the game and installing it again f-up my saves in documents also?

Just look into the right theme!

How can I do a clean wipe of GD stash?

I spent a while figuring out how to migrate my old stashes from GD stash manager and finally got the DB looking good, but the collections tab no longer works. I can click missing items/found items/all items, but they don’t do anything.

these two issues should be unrelated.

To delete the data, delete C:\users<username>\GDStash\db or db_<modname>

The buttons you talk about work once you have a search result. Search e.g. for legendary rings, you then should see what rings there are and whether you have them.
Now those buttons filter out rows

Thanks. Sorry I thought I tried that. It works just fine. Thanks for the quick reply. The program work great.

Hi I was wondering if I could use gd stash to level a char to lvl100 instantly and grant some items and play with friends that do not use gd stash?
Also if a gd stash leveled char can still be played after deleting the program and returning back to original state.

The short answer is yes and yes.

You would create the char in game and then edit it with the tool. While you can set the level to 100, unlock Ultimate and the rift gates, you cannot change your quest progress.
You can also create items, place them in the shared stash and pick them up with the char.

The tool does not change the game itself in any way (unlike a mod), it only changes the data in the save file. So whether the tool is installed or not makes no diference.
