I’m having a bit of a problem atm…
My laptop had an issue and my c: had to be formated. My D: remained intact. I did a copy of my saved characters before formating c:.
Now…
When I installed Grim Dawn again and open GD Stash and import the database, all the thounsands of items I had saved are gone… :s I’m I doing something wrong?
Your items were stored in your user’s directory, which generally is C:\users<username>.
So if you formatted C: without first backing up that dir, you probably lost the items while formatting.
You could also have exported your stored items to a file and saved that someplace safe, but I assume if you had done that, you would not now be asking this question…

Caused by “worn clothing” in transfer stash (the body armor you spawn with). I manually imported database and it didn’t fix anything. It’s not that serious, I can still work with my stash, as long as I remember to not place anything in the seemingly empty space. But still somewhat annoying, it complains on each stash reload.
Not sure if there’s a problem or not but none of the prefixes listed on GrimTools are available in GD Stash. Like I wanted to add a Commando’s prefix to Malmouth Arcane Girdle but there is no such prefix in GD Stash.
The Grim Tools Item Database still says that Commando prefix applies to all daggers, scepters, medals, chest armor, and belts. I think it might be a GDStash thing.
The tool bases this on the loot and crafting tables of the game, so if you could craft that item with that prefix in game, the tool would show you that prefix after you had selected the item.
The only belts I found that could have the Commando prefix are from the FG factions, so a Malmouth belt is out…
And yet Grimtools allows you to put Commando prefix on Malmouth Arcane Girdle.:furious::( Then again Grimtools also allows you to add a suffix to belt but can’t actually apply them.
Kk. Turns out you can only add the prefix if you turn off the affix restrictions. I actually prefer not to do so if I can help it.
if you remove the restrictions, you can add any prefix, regardless of whether that prefix is one the item can have in game. That you now can select the Commando prefix does not really come as a surprise…
The point is, there is no way for you to ever get that prefix from crafting that item in game. The crafting tables do not allow it.
i got it to work after fiddling with it for awhile. i’m not completely sure, but I think I, well I tried loading something I should not have in the configure page. Anyway, rolling again. Which is great as I use Grim stash a lot.
However, I will note that I once went to lock at my stash and EVERYTHING was gone. A blank. Have not idea what happened. Just playing the game and opening up the stash every once and awhile and zap . . . it was gone. Good news is that I happened to back up the whole stash I have about an hour earlier.
Grimtools database is wrong or Stash database is wrong? Before FG i did my build on Grimtools, i was looking for a Infiltrator Chains of Brandis Of Shadows but i couldnt craft on GD Stash so i tought “ok, this could be FG roll lets wait for the new release”. I got the new version, imported the database again and still the same. Also the rolls from the suffix “of Shadows” are different from grimtools and GD Stash
Backing up is a good advice in general… the tool always backs up the previous stash version as well, so even if you do not, there is a way to recover it
