[Tool] GD Stash

hell no, simply copy the file in Explorer. It is not a text file, so I would not trust Notepad to not corrupt it

Because if that is the case, I did it and I still have a significant lack in the number of items that should belong in the stash…

Also, I meant the items that i had stored inside the DB of Grim Dawn Stash - I cannot retrieve those items…

the transfer file is the game’s shared stash, it has nothing at all to do with the items stored in GDS

So where are you missing items from, the shared in game stash ? The item you collected and stored in the tool ? both ?

Oh, okay. I see. The items I’ve collected are now missing from the DB.

I did not delete the previous DB, but the updated version of GDS created a new Derby.log whereby I cannot open up GDS. How I’ve managed to get it to open was to allow it to create a new DB, but I now can’t seem to get the items from the previous DB into my current one.

that is the DB’s log file, not the DB. It gets written every time you open the tool.

whereby I cannot open up GDS.

so you cannot start GDS ? why ? Any messages ?

How I’ve managed to get it to open was to allow it to create a new DB, but I now can’t seem to get the items from the previous DB into my current one.

what exactly did you do here to ‘allow the creation of a new DB’ ?

What do you consider your previous DB to be ?

It said derby.home=null

I created a copy of the initial DB and then it just opened up as per usual…

Otherwise, I didn’t really do much.

How exactly did you create a copy of the initial DB ? The only way to really do so would be to delete the existing DB and then create a new one via GD import in GDS.

Deleting the existing DB also deletes your collected items that are stored in it however…

I keep getting an out of memory error while trying to import grimarillions’ database.

Any ideas?

“javax.swing.ImageIcon@11937e4 Java heap space
java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space”

Use the .exe to start the tool, that increases the heap space

I just copied and pasted to make a copy, then deleted the initial DB. Does that delete all the collected items, considering that I did make a copy? When i try to use the Copy of the old DB to start up the updated version of GDS, it gives me errors such as XSLA7… So to get GDS to start I really didn’t have much choice but to do what I did…?

How do I search for something like Aether Crystal? I accidentally moved a tab with some crystals to DB, and no matter what I put in the search or what boxes I check, it won’t list them.

e: they appear on char transfer, but not stash transfer. What gives?

edit 2: ok turns out they don’t appear when “non-bound” is selected. Probably a bug, since aether crystals certainly aren’t bound?

the items are stored in the DB, so you deleting the DB deletes the items. GDS now uses a DB with no items in it, which is why you cannot find anything.

As you do have a copy, you still have your items, just not where GDS can ‘see’ them.

When i try to use the Copy of the old DB to start up the updated version of GDS, it gives me errors such as XSLA7… So to get GDS to start I really didn’t have much choice but to do what I did…?

sounds like your DB got corrupted somehow, will look into what that error is…

In any case, as you have a copy we can probably (ie if the corruption is not in the item tables) get your items back, will post a bit about that later as well

Alright, thanks! Will take a look at the derby.log file again and give you details on the errors that occurred when i’m back from work!

Ok, so here are the steps

  1. if you have added items to the new database, export them to a file on the Im/Export page

  2. from the old DB, copy the files c4b0.dat and c4c1.dat to C:\Users<username>\GDStash\db\seg0

  3. check if GDS still loads now, it should unless the corrupted files are the ones you just copied, in which case it is the file containing your items, unfortunately

  4. Import the items you exported in step 1

i see, so is there any mod out there can edit item ?

the level requirements are stored in the game’s database.arz. So what you are looking for is a mod that changes them, there won’t be a mod that allows editing them.

oh, understood, ty

So I started playing Grim Dawn again after like a year of hiatus, and i was wondering where most of my chars went.

Turns out i had 4 characters locally saved, while 3 on steam cloud, where my new character is saved as well. lvl 90 already!^^

So i’m kind of afraid of using GDStash now, cuz i don’t wanna lose my steam cloud items. I removed all of my local characters and i wonder how i can now use GD stash on my steam cloud charcters.

Is it possible to get the steam cloud characters into my - now empty - charcter folder to use GD stash on it, or can GD stash work with steam cloud saved characters to begin with?

PM me if you can help me, best way to reach me^^

From what other say (I am not using cloud save) it is pretty safe as long as you do not have GD running while making changes, wait a few seconds afterwards and only then start GD.

As an additional precaution, you should create a backup of your chars and stashes, that way when the cloud ‘decides’ to reset your files instead of loading them, you still have your files.

Alright, thanks Mamba! Will try it out soon as I get back!

It has been a problem when i tried renaming my character using GD Stash. The charater’s new name folders were applied, but its was empty when i run the game (unless i roll-back the old ones).
Sorry for my bad English (if it was)!

Are you using cloud save ? Renaming works for me, but I use local saves. Do not have GD running while you rename a char.
