Did you read the included documentation (in the doc subdir) ? That should be able to explain everything.
It doesnāt start for me, DLād java 64 jre, running on a 64 bit system. Any ideas?
Not really, even with a 32 both JVM it should start up, it just fails on the DB import (for no good reason, that uses 350 or so MB, nothing a 32 bit JVM should not be able to handleā¦)
I assume you did install the JRE and did unzip the file and do double-click the .jar file ?
Try adjusting the .bat file so it points to your 64 bit VM and run that. Does that work ? If you run it from the command line, do you get any messages ?
Does it give āoutOfMemoryā or just halt?
Have you tried setting the -Xms(not just the -Xmx which is the more obvious and sensible one) to 1 gb and xMx to 2 gb or similar?
I think this has a good chance of working, if you havenāt tried it yet. Since it fails without reaching the heap limit, its probably just the garbage collectors fault.
You may have already tried this, in which case please ignore
out of Heap space
Have you tried setting the -Xms(not just the -Xmx which is the more obvious and sensible one) to 1 gb and xMx to 2 gb or similar?
tried it, didnāt make a difference. The 64 bit VM has no issues with the default heap size of 512MB, so not sure why the 32bit one still does at 1GB
thank you for reply sir. after i see the image i still confuse. when i try open the program and i put the setting as i see in the image.when i try importing data base. i got error.
( error importing data base )
(x java heap space )
(x extraction of item arc.failed)
(x extraction of text_en failed)
then i try mass import load item from dir. i just got loading icon and nothing happen.
please sir⦠i just too dumb on this kind of thing. and i just want to place my item my stash almost full. thank you very much
that has nothing to do with being dumb.
First off, since you had the heap space issue, you never set up the tool correctly, that is why the mass import is not working.
So what we need to do is fix the heap issue. Are you sure you are using a 64bit JVM, because the issue pretty much only happens with the 32bit one. So make sure you use a 64bit VM.
If it still happens, change the path to java.exe in the included .bat file so it points to the 64bit version on your PC and run the bat file rather than the jar. That should fix the issue. Note: the 64bit JVM is in Program Files, the 32bit one in Program Files (x86), so make sure to enter the former.
The character I mentioned before who wouldnāt lower to 50/50/50 250/250 through the +/- buttons⦠I manually reset her to 50/50/50 250/250 as mentioned before. I reallocated in-game to all physique, and just tried to reset her stats again. This time I was able to lower from 538 physique to 98 before hitting the health limit (98/50/50 260/250).
If you use Grim Calc, youāll find GD Stash isnāt allocating the right amount of health or energy per point. It should be 24 per 8 points (1 attribute point) of physique, and 16 per 8 points (1 attribute point) of spirit. Itās currently 22 health per 8 points physique, but spirit/energy is less straight forward.
Try this: Reset manually your spirit and energy to 50 and 250 respectively. Now give yourself several points of spirit using the ā+ā button. Now try to subtract it all using the ā-ā button. Youāll be stopped at 58/266. Now manually type in 50/250. Click ā+ā once and youāll go up to 58/282.
Will have to check that. According to the game guide it should be 20 Health and 16 Energy, wonder which of the two is outdatedā¦
The 58/266 sounds like the check might need to get adjusted (>= vs >) or something like that.
The 58/282 needs some analysis.
Game guideās definitely outdated if it says that. The fact that I allocated all that physique in-game for testing purposes and then tried to decrease via the button to 50/250 unsuccessfully in GD Stash tells us the value is off. However, right now, GD Stash satisfies neither 20 nor 24 as it gives 22 health per 8 physique
In the FAQ I found that:
"Does this tool work with Steam cloud save files ?
No, only with local save files. "
So if I use Steam cloud, I cannot use this tool?
Do I have to disable Steam cloud or something?
Yup, thereās a thread here on how to disable it.
But essentially:
- Turn it off
- Copy your saves from your steam folder to your My Games folder
- Profit
Some people say it works nicely with cloud save too, others had issues getting changes made in the tool to show up in game. Not sure what either side did exactly to make it work / not work. So ādoes not workā seemed the more prudent option
From a theoretical understanding it should work if you do the following
- point GD Stash at the cloud save dir (config, only done once)
- start Grim Dawn (should take care of any cloud sync)
- make whatever changes in GD Stash (store items in / retrieve items from the shared stash that is, editing chars may be a whole new ballgameā¦)
- open the shared stash in Grim Dawn, the changes should be reflected
No one has confirmed that yet, but since GD does not sync while playing from my understanding, this sequence should work.
I guess I need to try this to finally get an answer
Alternatively, disable cloud sync as described above
" change the path to java.exe in the included .bat file so it points to the 64bit version on your PC and run the bat file rather than the jar "
How do u do that ?? Iām not as computer savvy as a lot of u here whom find this easy to do :undecided:
Find the location of your 64-bit installation of Java. Location is usually c:\program files\java<version_number>.
Next, edit the gdstash.bat file, changing the location of the Java executable to what you found above.
Save the file.
actually it is not, you do get 20 HP when you add 1 point to Physique
However, right now, GD Stash satisfies neither 20 nor 24 as it gives 22 health per 8 physique
agreed, bad at math apparently
Fixed in new version
Did not really get much of an answer
Enabling the cloud in Steam prevented GD from loading for some reason
When enabling it in GD only, it did load and used the cloud save dir. Sometimes the items I added to the shared stash did show up in game, sometimes they did not, sometimes the shared stash even was empty, even though I had placed an item in it in-game⦠not sure if any of this is related to the cloud being off in Steam
The only time it reliably worked for me was when I had exited GD completely, added items to the stash via the tool and then started GD again.
Again, not sure how this is affected by cloud save being off in Steam
The stash file itself was always updated correctly, itās just that it was not always reflected in-game.
So it seems to be somewhat usable but inconsistent. At least you can store items in GD Stash reliably, but it might be a bit inconvenient to retrieve them again
Version 0.99b released
Ahh yes, if the 22 figure had been too low (rather than too high) the limiting factor when deducting points in 0.99a would have been physique rather than health. Very strange that both the wiki and Grim Calc have it as 24. I suppose it hasnāt been corrected in either because base health is obfuscated by mastery bonuses in-game.
0.99b works great.
Edit: I corrected the value on the wiki.
^^ Fine!
What has been changed?
