[Tool] Grim Dawn Item Assistant

Yes screenshot of directory

Try installing vcredist_x64.exe (or x86 if you’re on 32 bit)
The installer is located in the IA directory.

I ā€œrepairedā€ vcredist install and still no difference.

http://www.microsoft.com/en-sg/download/details.aspx?id=30679

Try that one.

Meanwhile I’ll keep digging here… its missing something.

Could be that the ā€˜repair’ does not work?
http://deepbot.deep.sg/forums/index.php?topic=5642.0
I figured it out. The ā€œrepairā€ wasn’t really repairing. I uninstalled both and reinstalled them both, now it is up and going. Thanks!

Success … even though I’m running a windows 7 ultimate x64 … installing the 32 bit version of vcredist solved the problem.

Thanks for bearing with me on this.

I’m not sure how to get this working, or what the actual issue is. When I load the program, with before GD, after GD, with/without stash open, whatever, I just get a message at the bottom left on the IA window that says ā€œCould not inject dll into process ####ā€ and on the right side, ā€œStash:ERRORā€.

Here’s my Log file:

Try running it as administrator, may resolve the injection issue.

Otherwise you’ll have to go to settings and disable ā€œsafe transfersā€.
(Then its your responsibility to make sure your stash is closed in-game before transferring any items)

Ok at first let me thx you for this cool tool

Second a question: Is it possible in the future to let the IA also showing the setboni? (At least you can use the link to the homepage which is ok ^^)

Another thing: The +X Cunning on the ā€œLeft Hand of Carnageā€ (epic Ring) is missing. Why? (On the webpage it is shown)

May add cunning at some point, already added a lot of extra details in the latest patch.

  1. I grab all the stats
  2. I filter and show only the stats relevant

GD stores a lot of stats which arnt very useful [for IA], like scale, physics, shadows… So I have to explicitly list the skills that are of interest.

Mmmh, but the Praetorian Chestguard has much more than only +40 defense ability. No offend but the +x% Armor and increased armor absorption is imo also important.
Or what do you mean with important for IA? Best thing would be to show the items exactly like they are. Isn’t this possible? Can i help you maybe, if it is ā€œonlyā€ to write all the details in some ini files or something like that.

Again no offend here. I love this possibility to store all my stuff

I assume IA is showing the base value, just like my tool does. The actual value of the item is the base value + a random number (which can also be negative), but unless we can exactly duplicate the GD logic, the tools won’t be able to exactly show the in-game value.

Downloaded GD Assistance, went no further as I got this message:
Unable to execute file. Create process failed. Code 740
Requires elevation.
Worked fine on my desktop, Moved, now playing on laptop. Clean install
Can any of you computer wonks let me know what this means?

after install of newest version, i get the red icon in task bar which is not clickable. also there are 4 processes (2x GDItemAssistant.exe, 2x GDItemAssistant.tmp) which seemed to hang up (no change in mem or cpu usage). after reboot, trying to start program does nothing. not even a process poping up, no error. nada.

have to go back to old version i guess. win8.1 64x. setup as well as programm started as admin.

edit: installing the old version has the same problem. could this be an issue with me not uninstall the old version and just installing the new version over it? wont get all my items lost, if i uninstall?

I’d try running it as admin, if that is not it, I don’t know either

The items are stored in appdata, so can generally jump between versions just fine.

Try running it as administrator, no idea why it would require it, but ā€œcode 740ā€ seems to be a widespread issue with many programs.

Have on Admin. Works sort of now.
Opens with 22 items already under ITEMS. Can’t put back in stash. No transfer to stash.
Can put new items in and out.
I thought the elevation statement was funny, just moved from swamps of Florida to the mountains of Tennessee.

Any screenshot?
If you can’t move them, its because you don’t have them.
Check if it says ā€œYou can craft this itemā€? If so, its just listing your recipes.
If you go to settings you can disable ā€œshow recipes as itemsā€.

IA can show:

  • Items you own (only these can be transferred)
  • Items you can craft
  • Items your friends own

Ok wow, now that I have this working, this is the absolute best thing ever. I’m a horrible pack rat, because I’m also an Alt-aholic, and this program just single-handedley solved my chronic space issues

uninstall and fresh install fixed my issues. new version looking great. still would prefer a simple list over the way items are displayed now… but anyway. good work.
