[Tool] Grim Dawn Item Assistant

Thank you. Cleared the 22 ghost items. Everything is working fine.
As I move from computer is there anyway to save what is stored and take with you.
Saved to a flash drive, can I copy and paste? You said stored in app data, where is it located?

Look under this folder path …\Users(user name)\AppData\Local\EvilSoft\IAGD\data

Eg no stats, just names?
I can probably dig up one of the very first builds… it used a regular windows ListView

For backups: If you want to move your items to another computer, click ā€œSettingsā€, ā€œView Logsā€, and copy the ā€œDataā€ directory.
Or simply use the built-in backup feature, and select a custom folder.

Mmkay?

the stats listed are the default values of the items aren’t they? it would be great to switch between a list and detailed view.

Ok, little bit worried here. I changed my Grim Dawn install directory to my SSD, and now Item Assistant doesn’t work, at all. When I launch the program, the window doesn’t pop up. The icon appears in my taskbar for a few seconds, then disappears. I’ve tried restarting the comp, nothing. Tried uninstalling/reinstalling the program, same result. I have my stash backed up in my Dropbox folder, so I know they’re there…somewhere…but the program itself just won’t launch.

Ok, well that was a (very frustrating) adventure. I managed to get the program to run again, but deleting the Evilsoft folder in my Appdata folder. However, because I removed the appdata, the IA was empty. I tried to see if there was some way to restore my Dropbox backup from within the program, but that led nowhere. So, I manually copied my userdata folder from my backup file into the same folder in my appdata, and overrode it, then ran IA again…and it became unresponsive and wouldn’t start. Again. So, back to square one. Deleted the data base file, so that I could launch IA again. With the program open, I once again copied my data base file backup into the Evilsoft appdata directory, then used the load database function from within IA. That seemed to find my items, but they wouldn’t display, so closed and re-opened IA, and was finally able to restore access to my stuff.

Conclusion: I really like this program, and the functionality it has, but if things go wrong like they did for me, the troubleshooting/fixing process isn’t very intuitive. I’m still a bit hazy on what exactly the problem was, but I would suggest that in addition to simply being able to create an external backup folder, that a restore from backup function be included directly within the program.

Troubleshooting steps: Ask for help on forum, then send me the backup and I’ll try to load it

I’m interested in anything that might have popped up in the log files, to narrow down what exactly happened.

It seems that a new update has been released even if there are no details of the improvements, just been updated now anyways

I may add something :
The only thing is I may encountered 2 duplicated items, but I’m not 100% sure, I thought I got only one Deathmarked Claw but I got 2 now in Item Assistant and they have exactly the same stats, so I don’t know if it’s a bug or if I got one another that I don’t remember.

Second item is the praetorian chest which I got 2 with exactly the same stats, seems strange too.

Is it technically possible to get a duplicate item or not ?

Patch notes(1st update): Fixed an Ascii/Unicode issue with the automatic bug reports.
Patch notes(2nd update): Improved some error messages in the log file.

Those who have already updated to the first update won’t be prompted to update to the second.

Nothing functional was added.

Can you send me your database file? (Settings => View Logs, then the ā€˜data’ folder)

If the seed is identical, it’s most likely a duplicate.
There has been some reports of it, but I’ve yet to reproduce the issue.

Though some items appears to only have 2-3 different versions, instead of the broad range of variances seen on other items.

Hi,

Today, GDIA has been updated as Regular updates to version 1.0.6025.38953.
So, Item’s image are old style.(see attached image)

How do I change the newest UI?

Click Database/Mods, select vanilla and ā€œParseā€ (or something like that… bottom left corner)

I have already done. But, UI does not change.:frowning:

When/if you have time can you add an option for custom game stashes?

I have no idea how hard it’ll be or if it’s possible at all considering every mod gets their own stash file but yeah if you can do it, please do it

My ā€œEvilSoft/IAGD/storageā€ folder is as bellow:
It seems that resource files exists.

And, I attached items.html. (I added '.txt’extension for upload)
http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=11640&stc=1&d=1467376496

It seems that <img src> tags indicates default images.
(<img src=ā€œC:\Program Files\Grim Dawn Item Assistant\resources\WeaponMelee_Mace2h.pngā€ />)

I held a vote for it, the people voted for shared stash instead of separate.

Hum… thats funny… I’ll try to take a look at it later…
But it functions as follows:

  1. Check if the storage directory contains the icon in question
  2. Use the icon if found
  3. Use default icon from resources\ if still unavailable.

Hmm did my install miss text file or something, it’s showing basic picture of items and some stats but not all and it’s not showing item name either

Mods(tab) => select the mod => Load/Parse database

Already done that was the first thing I did, but its also happening with items I’m storing from the main game

Anything interesting in the log files?
Anything with WARNING, ERROR or FATAL?
