cause was antivirus. avast suddenly blocking the program without notifying or anything.
Anyway to separate Vanilla from a mod like Dail? I donāt want to accidentally transfer an item in from a mod into the vanilla game if I go back to it. So far Iāve not exported any modded items due to this.
I held a vote:
- Keep the same inventory
- Separate inventories
The people spoke, and it was 1)
As for DAIL, Iāve gotten reports of IA not working at all with DAIL.
As DAIL requires a login to download, i say fuckit, not my problem
not sure how IA is setup but DAIL has a number of mods that have database folders that dont start with /records/ in order to reduce conflicts (23+ mods merged together) so that might be why it breaks with DAIL
if you want DAIL without a login, feel free to grab the git repo. all my build scripts are there with instructions
that does theoretically not mean you could not keep track of what mod an item is from⦠Each shared stash stores the mod it is from (or none for vanilla). If you keep that information with the item it still would be one big database with the ability to search by mod.
For what it is worth, I will go the separate DB route, because chars do not know what mod they are from, so as soon as you add their items into the mix, there is no clear separation any more (ie the item cannot identify the proper mod for it reliably).
As I show the item info and pic, it has to be stored with a reference to the correct mod though, so the only way left to do this for me were separate DBs per mod.
Since you only use the shared stash, not chars, you could always keep track of the mod however
Yeah those would show up as āunknown itemā in IA, as I filter almost all records irrelevant to IA.
Good point.
Iāll see about improving the mod support (in terms of items), while leaving the load database system the way it is.
If I could go back in time and vote I would, alas I cannot.
Iāve had no issues importing items into DAIL. Granted the items are from vanilla. There was an error the very first time I used it in DAIL, no issues since.
Forgive my ignorance on this topic. My understanding is everything exported is saved on a single file, is this correct?
If so is there a way that I could move said file (that has everything Vanilla on it in my case) and use a new one that would be used for DAIL? I could move them back and forth based on if Iām playing Vanilla or not. Is this a possibility?
Thanks for your work on this project, I really enjoy your program the best.
Sure, its userdata.db
Settings => View Logs
Then the data directory.
But Iāll be improving on the mod stuff in the days/weeks/months to come, time allowing.
Hi SP.
Just wondering since I cant seem to locate all my reflect gear in IA since I didnāt keep track of the names or it isnāt showing (maybe I am to low a level atm). Does reflect items show up when retaliate is checked?
Thanks
I see mod is progressing nicely. Keep up the great work.
Terrific, thank you. Iāll probably just wait for your updates then.
Was scrolling through the thread but couldnāt really find an answer to this - I didnāt have backups enabled and I accidentally transferred items from the assistant to my stash while it was open. As a result none of these items appeared in the stash but they also disappeared from the list in the assistant. Is there any way to use the .backup files to restore these?
Yep, the backup files are copies of your original stash.
- Rename your transfer.gst file to⦠[anything]
- Copy the backup file into the Grim Dawn save folder
- Rename it to transfer.gst
- Open your stash
- Loot the item
- Delete transfer.gst
- Rename [anything] to transfer.gst
Voila
Baller, thanks! Worked like a charm
Patch notes:
As of this version, IA will store which mod an item comes from.
Next update will improve separation of items per mod, and improved support for normal/hardcore.
Slippery pete, just wanted to say excellent work, been using GDIA for a while now and itās solved my stash problems! Canāt help saving greens, blues and purples in case theyāre useful to a future build! Keep up the good work!
After updating GD, none of my stored items show up. The amount of stuff I stored shows up in the bottom left corner and the stash being closed/open shows up, but no items show up. I run it as admin but nothing.
Anything in the log files?

Start => Run
(Or just Windows + R on your keyboard) and open:
ā%appdata%ā¦\local\evilsoft\iagd\storageā
Youāll see a file called items.html, open it up and let me know if it contains anything.
Nothing is in the file.
