I’m having space issues I don’t have enough iron to unlock stash tabs 4 and 5
Loot more greens, and in worst case yellows.
Vendor pays good monies!
Or just configure IA to use tab #1 and tab #2, under settings.
Ok GDIA is working good but the interface translated to Russian only partially. Besides I see item names in Russian but their stats are in English. Please check out this link with images - https://imgur.com/a/OLS0xO7
it is also strange that there are 2 russian translations with same name in the Change Language dialogue. I have tried them both - no difference.
And I have another question is it possible to search items by their descriptions? Like for example if I want to find all items with physical to lightning conversion I could search for ‘physical to lightning’ and find such items.
Also would be nice if the player could search for items that are available in multiple copies (for trade for example).
IA has a lot of custom text that doesn’t come with the default language packs. A Mr Jordan has done some work on adding IA translations, but I don’t know if his iatags file has ever been added to the official community translations.
If the Russian support for IA is lacking, take it up with the Russian community translators, I speak a whole of 3 words Russian
If you wish to manually add more russian translations to IA:
- Copy the content at https://pastebin.com/4ymKu9Jb
- Save it in a text file called “tags_ia” (tags_ia.txt if you show extensions)
- Find your grim dawn install folder
- Go into the localization folder
- Find the .zip file for Russian
- Open the zip file
- Drag the tags_ia.txt file into it
- Close it
- Load Russian again in IA, and it should contain more translations than before, but not all.
Again, if this file is not already included in the default Russian zip, take it up with the community translators.
The Japanese ones already comes with IA support, if that helps
It is not currently possible to search for items by description, but finding duplicates can be achieved by clicking the “Duplicates Only” checkbox.
I’m sorry I thought your program automatically retrieves translation info from the game files. At least basic ones like ‘% fire damage’ and so on. I mean your program shows ‘% fire damage’ so why not just take it from russian translation file it is already there. Like
tagCharStatsFire=огнём
Just need to use the Localization subfolder of the GD folder. And search there for tags. I doesn’t have tags for specific titles in your program but things like Offensive ability, Attack speed, % cold damage and so on are general. And can be used by retrieving data from the language file.
I might be mistaken of course just my thought on how it could be working.
Thanks anyway for your great tool!
Idk what you did to IA the last month, but its smooth af now. GJ
That is also quite possible, if you’re willing to dedicate the time to it. Handling the special cases in the tags, etc.
IA is on github, just make a pull request for the change and I’ll review it
How can I dedicate my time to it if I don’t know anything about C language programming? If you don’t like my suggestion or don’t want to implement it that is ok. Or if you don’t like any suggestions altogether that is ok too.
That is your concern, I recommended a perfectly valid option above which only required a simple copying of a text file, which was deemed insufficient for your needs. If said option is insufficient, I am open to you (or anyone else) providing a better option to IA.
Again, i reiterate, any and all translations for IA are the responsibility of the community.
IA supports community translations, and the users of IA will have to delegate said translations to their own community translators.
Cheers.
If such a code is attached before the item name, it will be troubled because it does not work with Grim Dawn Tools. This is a problem that occurs when you use localized files that color-coordinated items and skills, but you can easily prevent them by reading regular translations.
That is, when you first load the database with GDIA, put the regular version in the localization folder and replace it with the color version of the translation when you play the game. With this you can use GDIA without problems.
Thank you, Matougi. I have tried what you suggested but to no avail. The items names are in russian that is ok the problem is the stats of items are not. But anyway I can live with it. GDIA is still a fantastic tool !
P.S. I did what slipperypete suggested and added tags_ia.txt to the localization archive and some of the text now shows in russian but only ~70%. At least something. I just wonder what to add to that file so that GDIA shows everything in my language? For example it doesn’t show ‘Elemental resistance’. and for ‘elemental damage’ it translates only 'damage ’ part leaving ‘elemental’ in English.
I also translated the UI lines like
iatag_ui_misc_title=
iatag_ui_donatenow=
iatag_ui_openforum=
iatag_ui_tab_help
but still all the GDIA interface is in English. What is the purpose of those lines then?
I cannot recall the exact steps to reload the entire UI.
Try reloading the database, and then reloading the language pack.
That might get things completely reloaded.
If you know both Russian and English, editing the remaining values in the text file should get you to 100% Russian =)
I did that - reloaded the database and then pressed the Update item stats button… and now the GDIA interface is in russian except that some lines don’t fit and has been cut. Also some lines like "order by level’ and ‘Items’ , 'crafting ', ‘video guide’ etc has not been tranlsated. I translated everything in the tags_ia.txt file you provided still not everything in items stats is in Russian. Like % Fire damage or %Elemental resistances are still in English. I think some lines are missing.
Also just a few hours I got GDIA update. After updating every time I launch GDIA a window for online login pops up. I try to login there via Google account but to no avail. No authorization. How can I turn that pop up window off?
If it is possible please increase the length of Text Labels so more text can be fit there. Please see the images here for the text not translated and also that doesn’t fit (though there is enough space left)
also two identical lines in tags_ia.txt
iatag_ui_backup_location=Online Backup
iatag_ui_backup_location=Local Backup
The text file probably doesn’t contain all the tags.
See http://grimdawn.dreamcrash.org/ia/misc/tags_ia.txt for the up to date tags.
The tags are timestamped and linear, so should be easy to spot the new ones.
The iatag_ui_backup_location looks like the “Local Backup” is the correct one.
I’ll get the text label sizes increased in the next update to IA.
“Classes” is from iatag_ui_classes
“Log” is from iatag_ui_tab_log
Could be google logins is broken, I’ve not tested it for ages.
If you want backups: Try logging in via email instead, you’ll get a pincode sent to you.
If you don’t want backups… I’ll look into making a “i don’t want backups” button.
I want backups but only local ones to a custom folder which I already do. The only thing I don’t want is that pop-up window that appears each time I launch GDIA. How to turn it off? It started popping up with the latest update. There was none before it.
Probably they are new tags. I didn’t find them in the file you provided first. I will look into your new tags_ia.txt tomorrow and translate it. But if you would increase the length of the text labels I will need to revise my translation. Because at the moment I had to choose very bad but short translation with shortenings and so on. SO I will wait till you update GDIA with more space for text and then can send you ready made tags_ia.txt for russian language. So you can include it with your application for other users. Thanks
The text file needs to be included in the Russian community translations, the translations doesn’t ship with IA itself.
If you download the latest version at http://grimdawn.dreamcrash.org/ia/GDItemAssistantBeta.exe, the label lengths should be improved.
I am already downloading it thank you. I have no connection with russian translation community though I can log in to their forum and suggest including the translated tags_ia.txt. But first I need to translate and test it
But still this window…
I don’t need that window to show up. Please make an option to turn it off.
And another thing I could ask from you - make the listbox on the left panel a bit wider or resizable. The one on the main tab where we can check options for searching by damage type and so on.
Something that could also be improved if you have time and wish to implement it - make the program remember the position and the size of the main window. Now it just reverts to the default window size every time a user launches it.
Done!
Also fixed an issue with Google/Microsoft logins.
Resizing is a larger job, so may or may not get to it some day.
