[Tool] Grim Dawn Skill Calculator

Light of Empyrion is reversed in grimcalc. Even the nodes aren’t in the right order. :stuck_out_tongue:

I wanna add that the transmuter Focused gaze (dreeg eveil eye) says it reduce ennemies physical resistances but it’s wrong. It reduce physical ennemy damage!

Thank you for your reply about the word of a mystery. I wrote the explanation to my translation thread.

Ulzuin’s Chosen description is not working on Firefox (tested on Chrome and works), is the only skill that don’t work in Commando from Firefox, didn’t test others.

I will probably not update anything for some days. Sorry about this. I usually update once or twice every month, but some personal and non-personal chaos makes this hard for this month, so I thought I should post a note instead of disappearing completely. I will try to get back to this soon though. Its not so much “I can’t at all” but its more of “priorities”. I will of course check if this site is down and fix those kinds of things ASAP, as usual.

Will check. The mystery will live on till then.

The first one is probably an image error(I cant check ATM) I’d have to reconstruct that, the second one should be easy to fix. Thanks for the reports.

Thanks, hopefully that makes it clearer for people not used to these buttons

Yup, confirmed. Thanks for the report.

Curse of Frailty isn’t showing up as an option for Mogdrogen the Wolf skill, maybe others too, if you’re looking at a Conjurer build.

New transmuter for Demonlitionist

Ok, I am looking at the issues.

In the meantime, since this is taking some time, and I didn’t want to keep it in 1.0.0.4, I have updated the site to 1.0.0.5, without the hotfix (because there wasn’t any big changes other than a new transmuter, and its big enough that I didn’t want to break the builds that used the old transmuter)

Most likely I will save new builds links as /v1005h1/code (and doing this for each future release) instead of grouping them as /build/code, and serve that database version on that url. since the game is released and there are still changes to the skill trees, as they work on this game and expansion, I decided its probably better to keep each build with respect to their version. save/load between versions will be possible, of course. After the next update, I will also serve random builds on the current game version only, so the random button will be more meaningful, since it looks like people actually use it.

In the mean time, for a few days, the current skill board and data should be close enough to serve its purpose.

ctrl+f5, if you are still on the old version. the footer should say: “for Grim Dawn (1.0.0.5, -without- hotfix)”

edit: also, ssl certificate(s) have been updated. If you see a “certificate doesn’t match the site” or, some other error, a refresh will work. if you are inclined to verify it on your own, the sha256 fingerprint is

"4F:33:F9:2F:ED:7C:CD:8A:FD:28:78:18:27:C8:C7:3B:AF:6F:79:62:E8:FB:DE:DB:5E:DE:C3:B3:1B:6D:BD:AA"

there have been a few technical changes, if you notice any oddity, please either send me a pm, or post here. thanks.

Hi, thanks for all the work you put in this tool. I just wanted to mention that the flat internal trauma damage of Oerlon’s Rage is about 10 times higher in game than it shows in grimcalc. Tested it with a fresh character without modifiers just to be sure. Might be a bug in game as it seems very powerful. The percentage damage is the same.

Thanks for the report, but I think its just the for/over syntax in the tooltip that makes the difference.
I just created a character to test this, did a few crucible waves, died to pick class, it has basically no stats:

On the skill board(grim dawn),

whereas grimcalc currently displays “3-8 internal trauma for 5 seconds”(or the equivalent based on your localization settings)
which would be “15-40 internal trauma over 5 seconds”

  • grimcalc doesn’t displays the tick rate for DoTs, whereas grim dawn displays total damage. “10 damage over 5 seconds” is “2 damage for 5 seconds”
  • grimcalc displays the base values for skills, without including your character stats. (however, skills affect your stats in grimcalc)

in the end, grimcalc is 15-40, whereas the game starts it at 20-60, this sounds about right, gaining 5-20 from 50 physique points.
spending a few physique points, you will see that the game scales itself to match your physique:

and this char im playing:

so at 374 physique you have 8-21 internal trauma for 5 seconds. sounds about right?
this should be true and consistent for other weapon skills and such.

Thank you very much for this

Looks like devotions didn’t get updated to 1.0.0.5 values.

Awesome tool, much appreciated Stormcaller.

One thing I wanted to point out though is that ESC doesn’t seem to reset skills anymore. Is it just me?

nope, reset skills doesnt work for me either. not just the shortcut, but the cross mark as well. thanks for the info. odd, the current version has -only- the database changed, and there are no errors.

looking into it from the outside, I didn’t see any obvious errors. I will get back to fixing this site possibly tomorrow, so I should be able to fix most of these issues then.

Pet skills still don’t seem to match up with what’s in game. Just been trying to rejig my Conjurer using things like Ember Claw, Infernal Breath, Ground Slam and Lightning Strike for Devotions skills in the Calc, only to find they’re not available on the same constellations in-game. Mogdrogen, Levanthian, Manticore, etc.

sorry I left this unupdated, was working on other things.
Devotion is still at 1.0.0.4

Pet skills still don’t seem to match up with what’s in game.

what do you mean with this though? other than wind devils skill missing, pet skills should be on the v1.0.0.5, as far as skill calc part is corcerned. Do you mean there is a mistake in there, too ?

Yes, for the v1.0.0.5 version in-game the following constellations are incorrect in GrimCalc.

Shepherd’s Crook
In-game: Doombolt, Evil Eye, Sigil, Bloody Pox, Curse, Savagery, Primal Strike, Swarm, Feral Hunger, Upheaval, Vines.
GrimCalc: all of the above plus Lightning Strike, Ember Claw, Infernal Breath, Ground Slam

Mogdrogen the Wolf
In-game: Doombolt, Evil Eye, Sigil, Bloody Pox, Curse, Savagery, Primal Strike, Swarm, Feral Hunger, Upheaval, Vines.
GrimCalc: all of the above plus Lightning Strike, Ember Claw, Infernal Breath, Ground Slam, Maelstrom

Manticore and Levantian
In-game: Familiar, Hellhound, Doombolt, Evil Eye, Sigil, Bloody Pox, Curse, Savagery, Primal Strike, Briarthorn, Wendigo, Swarm, Wind Devil, Primal Spirit, Feral Hunger, Upheaval, Vines, Storm Totem.
GrimCalc: all of the above plus Ember Claw, Infernal Breath, Maelstrom, Lightning Strike

I haven’t checked all the others for a Conjurer, but suspect the same errors are there too.

OK so this is a weird one.

You know how you can rightclick an unused skill to grey it out as though to mark it as unused in the build? (Neat feature by the way.) Seems you can also do so for a whole mastery selection, if there’s no points in the mastery bar.

If you do this, the selectability of the mastery button shrinks for some reason. It seems to only register clicks along the top and bottom edges of the [+] button.

Hey, thanks for this amazing tool.

It would be nice if you could get devotions and skills up-to date.

I don’t know if anyone still checks this thread,

In either case, heres a “beta” version with v1006, http://162.243.251.194/ – feel free to use this in the meantime, but remember you can’t save from this. Its changed, a bit.

use the left sidebar for the monsters pages, dont click the main “monsters” link, I still haven’t fixed most of the urls. – all pages should be v1006.

also, it will be slower to load than http://grimcalc.com

I am still updating / fixing bugs. the major ones like reset button not working are fixed.

There are some design changes, like the tooltips display their level on the right. The idea there is I can make the tooltips take less space and display more info for pets etc. Now the colors are a bit weird though, so I’ll have to fix that.

Some minor things are the added tooltips on the second tab/index and some animation changes. The annoying text colliding on longer languages is fixed too.

I haven’t tried this site in windows yet, so it’ll look worse there in the meantime.

I don’t own this IP address. After a few days of this post, don’t use the link, it’ll be some random site probably.

let me know of issues – if this version doesn’t work correctly or has massive bugs, stuff like that. Ignore the broken/incorrect links and other minor stuff though.

I will check those out again once I get to windows, in v1006 they may be fixed. Thanks.

the “points available: 222” text has a horizontal collision with the plus icon, so it goes thru the plus icon. I dont remember which one is in the front, but it shouldnt matter, either way its odd – it shouldn’t change behavior when the css filter changes. this bug only happens when the button is gray/filtered
====|=|==
where | is the corners of that plus button.

Interesting case, maybe I will make a few demos to see how it really works, maybe related to repainting, or maybe I have a couple of js codes that does more than just changing the css.

anyways, thanks for the report.

I know right :stuck_out_tongue:
