Yeah, generally any time you are in danger of nullification there are probably 10+ hero monsters onscreen as well as an ungodly amount of absolutely beautiful vomit slurry of ground FX, auras, spells, screen shake etc. that can make it difficult to see, prioritise or even notice.
I agree though, it’s weird that Arcane monsters don’t have a telegraph like Grava’thul’s Nullification spell. It generally feels 50/50 on whether they’ll silently remove the auras making your build function or not.
The translation can be changed by clicking on the gear icon in the lower right corner of the video player. It’s far from a perfect translation to English but it works-ish.
they are not “speaking for others” but voicing their own opinion, which is fine, even if that POV is opposite or disagrees with others/you
whether or not teleport, nulli warning, nemesis warning gets added to the game is a dev decision, - guarantee you it wont rest on the input of a single user post so don’t worry about that
but users have the right to say they like them/want them, just like other users have the right to say the don’t like them
“don’t tell others to not speak their opinion” - goes both ways, no ?
So now that GD1198 seems possible to be used with GI again (havent tested it myself though), does this raise the question if changes to the base game should be implemented at all?
you’re asking if game’s base functionality, such as crashing, and video game settings not working or not working correctly, should be ignored/considered less, over the compatibility with an optional third party tool?
*i’m assuming that the crashing part/video settings stuff etc is part of the changes that required exe updates, but i’ve no clue if it does or what is involved with the exe update wise
Ah, that trick produces crashes? Didn’t read of any so far. But if the exe-procedure isn’t as flawless as gi users are used to, ofc GI-like game additions make sense still.
unsure what you mean
i’m not saying the GI 9.7 overwrite trick in itself causes issues or is going to cause issues for people using it
i’m saying that my assumption is, the “stuff” that required 9.8 exe to be updated by Crate was stuff outside merely a simple table value change, ie there is something “technical” going on under the hood requiring the exe to have been updated to 9.8 to fix those issues
and people now using 9.7 overwrite might then be playing without those fixes
and if Crate then were to stop updating the exe “to maintain compatibility with GI”, now and in future patches, means we might would have to forego any of those potential technical updates/improvements or fixes updating the exe implements
*again this is an assumption, i’ve very little/no technical knowledge, nor know what’s going on/what crate does with the exe.
But since the issue happened so late in playtest, and the 9 .7 live and 9.8 beta exe worked fine until then, i’m assuming Crate had reason or need to change the exe too and not just the other game files to make “something” happen, otherwise they wouldn’t have done it/GI wouldn’t have broken, since it’s the same GI used since mid 9.7 beta playtest, ie it’s worked through multiple updates before
“something changed”, and i dont’ think Crate made whatever change just for change’s sake/merely to update the splash screen to display june 2023 copyright+v1.1.9.8.0
Personally, I don’t see this workaround affecting their decision to implement some of the features. At the end of the day it’s still a workaround that requires you to jump thru hoops to enact it. Not only that you would have to redo it every single time the game gets an update and every single time you have a need to verify your game files - both updating the game and verifying would detect the out-of-date executable and “fix” it automatically.
This fact alone is enough to tell me that Crate will proceed with whatever they have planned regardless.

Interacting with Crate regularly for a decade has its perks. You get to know their stances on a variety of things pretty well and it then becomes fairly easy to predict what they would likely do in certain situations.
Some things can be a little hit or miss but some things with them are nearly set in stone with how they will go and my gut instinct says the workaround wouldn’t even make them stop to ponder it.

For me it says alot about Crate (yet again) that they respect Glocken, Grim Internals, and the huge number of their player-base that used her tool, enough to decide to implement (yet again!) even some of GI’s features. For free and “just because”.
That’s pretty fucking awesome of them. Wish more companies were like that.
With the power of hacking (i actually just checked who uploaded GI to the google drive) I got the email address of GlockenGerda and im gonna write her an email if she is willing to make GI open source or continue to update it. Wish me luck bois
