very very weird bro can you recheck if its blocked from your antivirus?
Ok try this rename the grim dawn folder copy the exe in the folder and rename it back
Copy the entire folder in the desktop and try again and then put it back in the steam folder it was before
Where did you install GD? is this gog or steam? if steam, is the steam directory outside of the program files directory?
This could be a AV issue, so adding the steam folder (if steam) to your AV whitelist, may help, as a few AVs are detecting the 64bit version of GD as a false positive.
But a general tip, don’t install games into the program files directory, (especially win 7 and 10) as it can cause permission issues.
@jawka83
Do you still get the freezing and stop responding issues without GI on the 64 bit version? it would help to narrow down if the problem is with GI or not. But there has been a few issues with the 64bit version of GD still, only recently the hotfix fixed the freezing of monsters (spells like TSS) will cause an instant crash) for me the 64bit version hasn’t crashed yet, but I’m not on the FG content.
Try without GI on act 5, if the same is still happening, then report the crash in the bug section of GD forums.
However, I’m having random freezes as well whereas x86 is rock stable through all content. The game just freeze, everything stops, animations, sound etc I need to kill the process via task manager. I’ve been exping torments on ultimate and whenever I entered torments and start to move, the game just froze. I switched back to x86, played for few hours without single freeze.
Please bear in mind I used previous version not the latest one with fixes to nemesis alert etc (so maybe I got nemesis and that’s why it froze?)
Thanks for the quick update! I am use to .ini files anyway and its well documented awesome work.
One thing though, is it required that we use a non-steam app to run and not use the standard grim dawn launch file all the time? Followed guide on the forum post. Just wanted to know its not a big deal.
Coming back to this (sorry) would there by any chance be some super secret config variable for the .ini (LogCombatMainCampaign=True) to allow the creation of these logs while playing the normal campaign (not custom mods)? I know you mentioned the log files are used also by Crate for error messages but I don’t mind if those and your application populated the file at the same time, if it’s possible. I could just parse out all the errors anyways. Plus, I don’t think I have errors with this game.
@GlockenGerda, maybe you should consider adding that to the first post in big red letters like
Please keep in mind: The x64 version doesn’t have a Configurator window yet!
hopefully people will see it
