Hey everyone! I made something for you guys: toonbuilds.com. (WARNING: desktop-only at the moment)
Not sure if I’m posting this in the right place. Seemed appropriate to put it here.
I started playing Grim Dawn recently, and I love it. The build mechanics are excellent. However, they are just complex enough to warrant following a build guide (especially on your first play through). Unfortunately, I had difficulty deciding which build I wanted to use. This web app is my attempt to provide a place to find, share, and compare Grim Dawn builds.
You can browse, create, and star/like builds.
I’ve only spent a couple weeks and a little money on it so far. If you guys like it, I will invest more time and effort into features. I already have a lot of ideas on how to improve it, it’s only very basic at the moment.
Thank Ceno. One of the mods had moved it to Utilities/Resources, and so I renamed the title to confirm with the other threads. However, it seems that someone has moved it back to Classes, Skills and Builds.
The filter is a bit weird, the distinction between 1st and 2nd mastery in particular. It doesn’t show the example build if I select Occultist as 1st mastery or Soldier as 2nd mastery. What determines if a mastery is 1st or 2nd? If there wasn’t this distinction, the filter would be much more usable I think.
Other than that, I like the look of the tool. Looks better than the other one I saw on reddit a while ago (which I would never have used anyway tbh).
The names, “1st” and “2nd”, are only to make the distinction between the two. However, you’re absolutely correct. The filter should not care which one is “1st” and “2nd”. I will fix that.
Thank you. I really like the way the Build Compendiums look, so I’ve made ToonBuilds.com similar. Also, I really like the full discussions for each build on their respective forum post. However, I do not like sifting through the lists of builds in the Build Compendiums. I feel that the forum is a great place for creating and discussing builds, but not for shopping and picking a build. That’s the purpose of ToonBuilds.com.
Yesterday I changed how the filters work. I hope it’s more intuitive now. I want people to be able to apply filters to quickly get to any dual/mono mastery. However, I didn’t want to list all of the dual masteries and the mono masteries because it seemed overwhelming. But, if it’s still non-intuitive with two masteries maybe it would just be better to list the dual/mono masteries instead.
You can select any number of masteries, so that your result list is not limited to one dual-class.
E.g.: Select Soldier, Occultist and Nightblade to get all Witchblades, Blademasters and Witch Hunters.
One can be set to Required.
E.g.: If you set Soldier as required in the above search, your result list would be limited to all Witchblades and Blademasters.
Or select only one mastery to display its single-mastery builds.
