Something I again briefly touched on discord but for let’s say an item like a chest that may offer +1 for 3 different skills, I understand that if it is applicable to you, it appears more highlighted as opposed to being greyed out however, it should specify the class it is for.
For example - if I have an item that improves my Panneti Replicating Missle by +1, it should say +1 +1 Panneti Replicating Missle (Arcanist) to make it more newbie friendly. Otherwise, if you’re a newbie like me with two classes, you’re endlessly hovering over either class icon trying to remember what class it applies to.
I was thinking about this too, but adding “(Arcanist)” will not help much. It will only save you half the work. You’ll still have to search one whole skill window.
Unfortunately I don’t see a good solution. Even putting skill icons in tooltips wouldn’t be enough. Sometimes it’s just hard to tell which skill is which without looking at its tooltip.
Examples:
Military conditioning & Veterancy - both are Soldier’s passives, use similar icons and their names bear similar meaning,
Fighting spirit & Fighting form - both Soldier’s, one is a passive, the other enhances Cadence, but I often confuse them,
Storm surge & Storm touched - Shaman’s skills, one improves Primal strike, the other - Savagery, but I always mixed them up.
So yeah, as much as I would like to applaud your idea or provide a better one, I don’t know how to fix this.
EDIT: Or maybe I do! It would be greatly helpful for me if item’s tooltip showed current numbers from skill window, like this:
+1 to Fighting form (9/12)
+1 to Storm surge (0/12)
+1 to Veterancy (20/10)
The only issue I see with showing the skill points is what if the skill already has bonus points from other items, but you don’t use it? I.e. Would the skill show as (2/12) even if the player had no points in it?
Maybe the tooltip could show the class, and also if it’s a modifier show the skill:
+1 to Storm Surge (Shaman, Primal Strike)
+1 to Fighting Spirit (Soldier)
As I said: “current numbers from skill window”. Right now if a skill has bonus points, but you don’t use it, it appears as (0/10) in skill window, so that’s what I would expect in item tooltip too.
