Very highly applicable to stuff like retal too. Who’s left playing in the swamp now don’t really play retal outside of testing except for a few personal favorites (lee’s acids back then, and I faintly remember you did hellborne and ignaffar waaaay back when those two were garbage). Meanwhile I’m pretty sure the chinese community has some retal specialist. Not sure if it’s kingred or someone else (or multiple people) but everytime I hear about them there seems to always have discussion about retal no matter if it’s a good or bad retal patch (just perception, I’ve been out of this place for years).
Just shows how more people = more power especially once differences in building styles (and gameplay priorities which go hand in hand) get resolved.
We definitely slept on the latest round of retal buffs even tho we saw some reports of Hellborne Grenado being pretty nuts. And I looked at GS’ retal warder guide many times and even discussed it with him too.
Also I must add that not all of us are active all the time. A lot of us are super duper burned out on GD, like before this top20 testing I think most of us were basically inactive untill Grey and Banana suggested that we should do this top20.
He is hiding in our toxic discord (got a small room there and a double bunk bed he shares with @Jabrixone). And their room is next to @Valinov 's. They all live in honorary retired GD builders wing.
Yo! I haven’t been playing for years (I might not play again if zantai delays dlc by 5 years) but I’m still semi active on the toxic swamp discord do I somewhat have an idea on what was happening behind the scenes in top 20.

Just like in the previous Top 20, contenders / challengers (aka “why muh build not here” / “muh build better”) are starting to appear There could totally be a separate thread for that.
But on the other hand it’s also fun to amass a huge number of posts in Top 20 threads
i wonder if Deathguard Dervish can work in similar way as Deathguard Dervish? Or is it considerably worse? Lethal Assault for buffing Shadow Strike, Path of the Three for reduced cooldown, Guardians provide RR and proc something like Murmur/Manticore/Akeron devotion abilities.
Thank you for putting so much work into testing everything and coming up with a precise list. Melee builds definitely feel the pressure compared to cast and forget builds; hopefully FoA changes that up so that people feel more rewarded for going in up close.
Phys res and armor no longer automatically grants you a lot of tank.
Now that this is no longer the case, what has helped the most regarding granting decent tank? % Healing effects bonuses + low cooldown heals? Special circuit breaker timing + CDR?
yep, we ( )tested it, it’s all right. RF as a filler. But Reaper is couple of levels above. Because you have Bone Harvest as a filler which works much better for damage and sustain than half-assed RF/wps.
EDIT: Also it’s worth noticing that with SS/BH you can facetank but you can also fight in a non-commital sort of way where you hit and move on to the next target, while with SS/ABB/RF you will be spending most of your time in melee range absorbing all the doodoo that game throws at you.
Sustain/HP/DA/max res. Some amount of armor is still required on most builds, to me it feels like there are almost breakpoints for armor and phys res value for SR 30-31. Like I’d say 10-15% for phys res and ~2200-2600 armor. Less than that and you feel incoming damage spike more, more than that doesn’t do much at these Shards.
Mine is a budget fully farmable version. Banana’s has more damage and in general is a decent endgame build. But not good enough for top20 (or even top30 I think).

I usually create new chars for some of the top builds, but this time I cannot bring myself to create the #1. Its ability/effect colors are all over the place, just too ugly
Speaking of the Top 30, do the scores in the spreadsheet give an indication of the builds your group would rank as #22-30, or is it not as simple as that?
Oh yeah, I think we locked those pages because we are still going to decide on what honorable mentions to post and how many. Not sure if I can spoil it yet.

should refrain from nerfing it then since it’s a reasonable trade off. Best performance but your eyes are bleeding.
