⭐ Top 20 Softcore builds, End of Forgotten Gods Edition [1.2.1.6]

Thanks for sharing. That’s completely different approach that what i initially had in mind:

I already dislike pressing ABB for Lethal Assault every now and then, but adding Righteous Fervor AND Ring of Steel to it? It’s too much piano + i think you just waste time on this rotation (LA/RF/Riong of Steel) instead of pressing Shadow Strike more often.

In general i think Reaper became the strongest class combo with additonal of Cold and Acid RR to Necro and Vitality RR to Nightblade.

It just hurts to look at Demonslayer Dervish with Presence of Virtue line barely having any points.

Best Acid build = Deathguard Reaper
Best Cold build = Chillwhisper Reaper
Best vitality Build = Demonslayer Reaper

By best i mean ease of play, performance in Shattered Realm and against celestials.

I will try without RF and see how it goes.
As for ROS, I added it for a bit more aoe after you shadow strike into a pack of ennemies, it seems to help

Yes except best Vitality build is definitely up for debate. In our testing group some didn’t think Demonslayer Reaper was that special and some thought it was actually quite special.

i’m biased against non aether conduit PB, so i basically “default” feel stuff like spam sigils/totems/RE is better from being more fun.

Because of the transmuter change (and Nofika’s pierce/bleed WH specifically) was actually wondering if it was feedback time for some CD PB stuff
*granted in my mind i also have the idea it involves some fx/sfx to make it appear and feel even more glorious for the nuke

I have a few questions about this one:

  1. Why Korvaak devotion? Raw damage boost and debuff on proc?

  2. Why Master of Death over, for example Harbinger of Souls or Reckless Power?

  1. DA shred and passive leech and cc.2
  2. Your main skill has its damage scaled based on crit damage, you want even more OA, also the DA is very much welcomed too.

the binder has like 135% base crit on AAR, 90% baked in(Disintegration) and another 45% global
so part of the new oa stacking meta reason they mentioned for high crit builds
also fun little bonus tool tqFan made for napkin math stuff 🧮 Critical Hit / Resistance Calculators - DPS multipliers

Most versatile, probably. But not the strongest. You nerf those 3 sets and Reaper will end up with two builds on the edge of top20.

Reaper was our projected class to dominate the patch, so we’ve tried a million of Reapers this testing, and so many of them flopped spectacularly. Somehow this class is very hard to make defensively sound, even though it has evade, high dr and a failsafe.

Also for the record, Demonslayer Dervish is faster in SR. Others voted Reaper over it cause… Idk why actually. It’s all lee’s fault, as it often is.

Somehow = because most of the reapers end up being pure melee or close to that. Give Necro all those new resist reductions during our last top20 and it would’ve been top20 melee Reapers probably. Now is just not a good time for auto-attackers.

I helds their pet tortoises hostage but we promised each other we won’t bring it up

Why is that, would you say? Because they have been superseded by new or buffed builds? They have (as an archetype) not been nerfed, I think?

I think it’s because some of them have been nerfed but mostly it’s because in the last two patches GD has become unfriendly to auto-attackers. There were a lot of huge changes with rebalancing of incoming physical damage and something happened amidst that rebalancing. Like maybe game has just become a bit harder overall while auto-attackers remained the same (melee/ranged aa builds are super sensitive to balance changes) or maybe somehow monsters started dishing out more debuffs (it’s really noticable when playing ranged, you look away from your screen for half a second and you are already standing in some impaired aim debuff puddle).
We don’t know for sure, but even after another round of fine-tuning our best melees couldn’t hang. They are still viable (top ones) of course, more viable than ranged that just fell off a cliff (but again, talking about very top builds, I think you can start putting some ranged builds in like top40-top50).

Thanks. Interesting.

So I tried, I’d say it’s better damage wise without RF
Bonus point, I now use shadow strike as the “Auto attack” skill and it’s less fatigue for my finger that had to spam shadow strike non stop.

I also tried to max or not nigthfall , you really want to max it as high as possible (for dervish at least - deathguard set)

The funy part is I tried withouth RF in the past, but i don’t remember my skillpoint allocation (probably tried multiple skill allocation too) .
And since then I have also made 2 or 3 change to my gear too.

Not perfect and I had to put some skill points in elemental awakening for element resist (lol) but At least it gives forstburn that is converted to poison :

Anyway, doesn’t matter too much it’s not the final end-game version, will be better in the future

I think you need Veil of Shadow at 10/10 for radius, oa/speed debuff, Dunefiend Blade is better because of +1 to nightblade and 50% weapon damage to Shadow Strike and rings of Shuroth are also better due to +2 to Night’s Chill and +2 to Path of the Three.

Maxing Nightfall does not sound convincing but i should test it.

When i remove Rat from my devo i lose 1k flat poison damage, from 7k to 6k - it’s like 14% less damage from dot ticks, so it seems better than Jackal + Scholar Light.

There was some change that stopped enemies randomly missing with melee attacks. I think that one is the biggest factor for defence. For offence melee stayed more or less in place while other playstyles got a handful of builds that are close to melee solo output. Also non-AA playstyles suffer much less from enemy pingpong caused by bad aggro/pathing/hitbox systems. This pingpong is a big hindrance for both offence and defence.

Maybe some change to the way melee avoid works?

right now it works like that: you avoid pure melee builds and win in GD

guess it means we’ve come full circle

Very nice build list, but shouldn’t this be in the title?
