Tower of Kalemonvo

Finished the demo yesterday.

my impressions:

Just finished the demo with archer/crossbow build

Thanks to the developer for the very exciting game and thanks to all the community for the tips, especially about pumping dexterity to maintain high Attack Rating to keep chance of hitting the enemies sufficiently high.

I recommend to read the the following guide:
The Tower & You (A New Player Guide)
A Guide for Tower of Kalemonvo

An on-ramp for New players to Tower of Kalemonvo. In this guide, I will walk you through the required information to get you started and up to Floor 6. However, don’t expect too much help after that, you’re on your own.

before you start playing, as even for experienced players the game may be tough.

I believe it’s a good idea to pump 2 points into DEX each level to keep AR in check, whether you play melee or bow/crossbow.

If you only play spells, maybe it’s not needed

What i liked:

  • the atmosphere
  • music
  • no teleports, no selling of your items - manage the inventory space between the potions and the things you may need further, no town
  • no GRINDING for items - you go with the flow with what you have
  • no builds (as there is no grinding and no items database)- you only get general tips from the forum about attributes and general direction and then you can adjust your build on the way as it nice to shoot things from afar and then switch to a big axe and finish them off at melee range
  • gameplay: it’s basic but it’s the point here, change of heart after all the flashy modern games
  • you can save any time

what i don’t like:

  • the game could communicate better about the importance of certain attributes, especially DEX.
  • it’s annoying i have to constantly swing between different skills i want to use (Combat Arts, Spells) - and all of them are only accessible by RMB (Unless i mistaken?). PRobably it’s a design choice but still.

Overall i am looking to buy the game and enjoy it in full.

HIghly recommend.

It’s probably the only ARPG that can be considered as a love letter to Diablo 1 fans. Made by a single individual.

Great pick. I never finished it but the demo was pretty engaging.

Just finished the demo, pretty cool game considering it was made by just one guy. Combat feels a bit clunky at times (especially around doorways) but not nearly as clunky as D1 back in the day.
I played a Wand caster and while the 1st floor was a bit of a struggle, it got much easier once I invested all my points into Mind which boosts wand damage. Also had to invest a bit into Dex because apparently wands need that stat to increase hit chance as well. Actual spells only need Intelligence.
Then I freed a mean looking babe from a prison cell, she dropped a unique wand that shoots 3 fast projectiles instead of 1 slow one, from there on it was easy going and I cleared the remaining floors in no time. Gonna try another run with a melee character and see how that goes. Thanks for the recommend @AngmarDT
