Nice! But where’s the cinematic “scrambling for the exit in a hurry” scene?
sings triumphant music
Doot doot, doo boo dah, doot doot, bwee! Ba doo, bwee dah, bah dee day, dum, bah dee dah bwee day daaaaa, bee nah, bay doh, ba do dum da, bwee say man nee rum, keeee! continues on for seven minutes
Great work group, we did it!
You may now start thanking me for dragging your asses through this misery
queue montage of me riding off into the sunset with all the babes
I believe you meant, “CUE montage of me riding off into the sunset with all the babes.” Queue is used when forming a line, especially in Britain. Cue is used as a way of saying to do something at a certain time. spits at the ground Stupid bards.
stuck in my head
Nonono, it’s a “queue montage” of me queueing away with all the babes
Well have at it then. You’ll be standing for hours with all the babes saying
“I’m tired.”
“Ugh, this line is so long.”
“I’m never letting you choose where we go ever again.”
“My feet are hurting. Bend over so I can sit on your back.”
“Your back feels weird. Can’t you do anything right?”
“Go get me a glass of water. No I don’t care you’ll have to go to the back of line. Just get me my damn water.”
“What took you so long? I’ve been at the entrance an hour already and you’re just coming through the line now? You’re so inconsiderate. You should’ve just cut through the line when you got my glass of water.”
“We need to talk…”
I’m sure it was all very dramatic as we escaped just in time before the entire universe imploded behind us!
Here are the final stats of characters!
Heh, apparently I have a thing for spells with alliterations in the name
BTW: What’s next? Shall we wait till we know whether our exile is only temporary before we decide on what to do next or shall we decide on which game to play now and then wait with starting it? Nothing at all? Thoughts?
I was with the party significantly less time than Shalie and still got 3x the amount of kills he did. Take that, bard!
When it comes to what’s next, I could propose a game of Mafia if there’s nothing else others want to do.
due to recent events I believe we can scuttle back to tq net and return to the safety of the rocks we were hiding under. Or we could try to involve the larger gd community. Whichever I hope we have another adventure, i have enjoyed both playthrough topics immensely, I hope others have as well. Kudos to violo for the initiation and overseeing of the ftl topic. I appreciate everyone sticking with this one despite my absences and lack of user driven input perhaps another game with more turn based consequences would be better, I have heard good things about renowned explorers.
Well, your writing played a huge role in keeping it interesting (in my opinion at least).
As for going back to tq.net, as it is apparently only temporary for now, we should probably wait a bit. While we’re waiting we can decide on a game, I think.
Renowned explorers is a cool game, but I don’t have it. Does anyone else own it? Or maybe Darkest Dungeon? Other games?
Good suggestions, I own darkest dungeon, but not sure if it would fit for this type of game. At least with our little community with so few volunteers. DD you can’t just select a few heroes and play with them the entire game. Instead you have an endless supply of recruits and you send them through a meat grinder and see who is left standing on the other side. I guess people could choose multiple heroes after their first selections slowly go insane
I suppose any game will work if people are interested in the outcome and the player keeps the updates coming! (Something I am terrible at. I swear I am writing a wrap up for our little journey! It’s just a little… behind schedule)
Oh, yeah, indeed. Well, instead of playing one specific character, we could just name minions that you send into the dungeons for us I got Wraith, Ghoul, Ghost and Shade ready to go…what do you say?..The names need to be creative?..oh, well…
Well, considering our forum thread format, delayed updates shouldn’t be a problem. And, no, you’re not that terrible at it, I’ve seen way worse
The question really is how many of us participants are left and if we should move back to the TQ.net forum in order to have more of them? (I don’t think many of our IWD2 party read these forums?) And if we should even go with Darkest Dungeon, of course. I’m up for it, but we are the only two people currently discussing it.
I am open for anything as well… But it seems to have gotten quite lonely in here!
I’ve never played Darkest Dungeon. I’ll have to look into it. But yeah, as sketchy as TQ.net has been recently in its on-again, off-again inconsistency, it’s hard to imagine getting back into the swing o’ things over there until the dust settles and we know if it’s gonna be around or not. I have to say, MB, I’ve missed your writing. Hopefully you can grace us with more of it soon, either here or there.
Yup, I agree with defboy. Let’s hope that there’s more and better news once I’m back in 4 days.
Still, if you want to get the job done, go straight to Violo, badass concentrate! - For the same kill efficiency as buying 48 Shalies.
Naturally I will be expecting 48% of the reward. Suckers.
Sorry btw about kinda forgetting this was still going on. Gad I got back to read it. Who is the giant dwarf guy though?
As for games, DD is certainly a suitable title, but I’d also go along with whatever people want to start. Maybe when TQ.net is back, which it will be in some form or other (currently down again). That much is certain.
Giant dwarf? In the boss battle? Some random monster (Frost giant?) that the bad guys summoned. I am all for waiting for TQ forum to pop back up… Any volunteers to lead the next round, whatever game it may be?
[The party trundles back down the cobble stone path with their pockets jingling with coin and their packmules overburdened with treasure galore]
“Well, I still don’t understand why they didn’t just pay more for their Porsche’s if they were taking them to a car show!”
“Well that is the point! It’s a low cost challenge! If you spent a lot of money it wouldn’t be a challenge.”
“I think the point is to be funny.”
“Nothing funny about a poor showing in a respectable owners club judging!”
“You’re all wet!”
[Just ahead the faint outline of a town skyline appears]
“Looks like we’re just about home there lads. Never thought I’d be reminiscing ta seeing the day proper of this old haunt again.”
“Think about all the money we are going to make!”
“This loot will sell for millions!”
“We’re gonna be rich!”
“Yeah! With millions of coins we’ll be millionaires! And we’ll be able to buy anything! Like love!”
[The group rolls back into Targos to a heroes welcome. The ale is flowing, the coins flashing, and the… Well that is about it. Not much else to do in Targos.]
[After a few days of drinking and gambling and doing not much else it is time to head home and leave this world behind. The five heroic treasure-collecting, town-saving, palisade-protecting, food-delivering, hostage-rescuing, bridge-repairing, cave-exploring, damsel-undistressing, ice-temple-melting, forest-maze-mapping, heartstone-protecting, diplomacy-doing, mystery-solving, time-traveling, slave-saving, grog-swilling, goblin-smashing, orc-skewering, bugbear-slicing, giant-shinkicking, cult-disembowling, dragon-decapitating, spider-delegging, yuan-ti-butchering, hookhorror-slashing, lizard-men-gouging, monk-genociding, ogre-slaughtering, harpy-grounding, salamander-tailpulling, shapeshifter-mauling, troll-toasting, umberhulk-husking, undead-smiting, necromancer-bopping, wyvern-sniping, drider-lacerating, demon-banishing, all around monster-slaying badasses, along with the bard, head west at dusk leaving Targos behind, a dwindling speck to remain only in the memories of those who had saved it. The group cut a fine image striding side by side back towards TQWorld and the initial site of the beginnings of their journey, the Dine ‘n’ Niceness Tavern. As they head off into the sunset, this adventure is left behind, leaving only the future, and the next adventure awaiting the corner]
[The lovely image of the 6 walking away into the sunset freezes into a picture and slowly fades into sepia tones. What a picturesque ending!]
Laurrr:“Didn’t we arrive by boat?”
Shalie:“Don’t ruin it.”
Laurrr:“Besides what are we doing setting out at sunset? Who starts a journey just before nightfall? Stay in a comfy bed at a hotel and set out first thing in the morning so you can see where you are going.”
Shalie:“Shhhh”
[THE END]
(p.s. everyone gets an epilogue!)
I personally liked that part best. I even told that little part of the story to another person and they chuckled a bit at the responses of, “If the game will allow it…”
