Icon for trader at trading center, but no trader present. This happened after I tried to trade but was not able to. First I tried to sell more then merchant had money, after that I reduce the quantity, but still couldn’t trade. Speed was at 3x, maybe trader left while I was trying to sell.

this happens, if you upgrade while a merchant is on visit. After upgrade merchant seems to be trapped and won’t move away anymore.
Save game and reload fixed the issue for me.
Can confirm that i also had this happen - and probably there was a merchant present when i upgraded the building.
