Typing in the number (instead of using the slider) does not function properly at 3840x2160 resolution and 1.5 UI scale
same for me on 2560 x 1440

Transferring to/from works (type the number and the slider widget adjusts to match). When purchasing/selling however, irrespective of resolution, typing the desired number has no effect and only the slider is respected by the actual buy/sell buttons.

OK, so it appears that when selling to a trader that will only buy that commodity the numeric input box and the slider are linked when either has a change event; however, when the player is buying a commodity the change of value event in the amount-to-buy box doesn’t trigger the slider’s movement (and presumably the underlying value).
So…
Transfer to/from Trading Centre works
Sell to trader works
Buy from trader input box disconnected.
