Transfering Equipment between characters

Heya Everyone,

I’m fairly new to Grim Dawn (just over 2 weeks) and I’m having a bit of a problem with transfering items using my transfer bank.

On my main character I’ve bought a 2nd transfer bank and have filled both of my transfer banks with equipment. When I log in with my 2nd character and check the transfer section the bank is empty, it doesn’t even show the second bank. Am I supposed to be looking somewhere else for this or am I missing something that I have to do first?

I’ve searched online and the forums not finding a solution, any help would be appricated.

No, it should show up and be accessible by all your toons. If you’re on Steam try verifying the game cache and see if that clears it.

If one character is hardcore and the other isn’t that would also explain not having access to the items. Hardcore and Softcore characters don’t share the same transfer stash.

Yup, I’m on Steam. How would I verify / clear the game cache for Grim Dawn (I’m googling it now).

I don’t think either one is hardcore, the first one started with veteran normal and after finishing I started on elite though I may have chosen something else instead. My second toon is norman though he’s not died yet as he’s only 18 atm.

Is there any way to tell if the toon is an HC toon or not?

Going to try this when I get home unless someone has any other ideas:

  • Right click Grim Dawn in your Library and choose “Properties”.
  • Select the “Local Files” tab.
  • Press the “Verify Integrity of Game Cache” button.
  • Steam will redownload the missing file.

Yes the HC chars have this coloured mist around them as shown in the image below

Are you sure you are checking transfer tabs 1 and 2? If you are a new player, you might check transfer tab 1 / personal storage instead by mistake :wink:

The same is true if you are hardcore in real life. :rolleyes: :smiley: :rolleyes:

Thanks for your help all, I tested it before I read the replys here by dieing on my new guy. He’s now a ghost and that answers my question he was indeed an HC character :smiley:

I created a new one that’s not HC and i’m able to access all the transfer slots so it looks like I’m all set there just need to get over it and delete my dead HC guy.
